Chapter 179
When Phoebe’s motorcycle skidded in the racing game, Reece was married. Back then, it felt weird that, because Phoebe and Brenda were excellent motorcyclists, Pinele shouldn’t make such a fundamental mistake. In the end, Phoebe turned it into a trap set up by Jarmina. She would have been in the hospital if she hadn’t corrected her metaphysics.
She mentioned that her injuries would have been more severe then, if the dudes had a narrower age range. In other words, Sienna had tried to kill Phoebe. Attempted murder was totally unforgivable to Deere.
Sienna shook her head with feigned intensity. “No, Lutut. I didn’t say that Phoebe caused or to fall down the stairs. I suspected I had tripped for some supernatural reason, and Joshua got me wrong.” She tried her best to excuse herself. “I didn’t cure Phoebe. No, I didn’t.”
Jad heard Sienna from the table. Astonishment appeared on his face. He said to the camera, “Sienna, you implied that Phoebe was the culprit. That’s why I came to question her.”
What did Sienna mean? Wasn’t she passing the buck? Between her reputation and Joshua, she chose the former without hesitation. She looked at Joshua in surprise. “Joshua, I didn’t mention Phoebe’s name at all.”
“You misunderstood me and dashed to question Phoebe. Wounded on the bed, I couldn’t stop you in time.”
“You suspected Phore of being the culprit, so I couldn’t help but wonder whether she was.” With an innocent look, she added, “Joshua, what a misunderstanding?” She intended to soothe Joshua later. Now, she felt sorry for him.
Joshua was so furious that he laughed. “All my bad, none?” He regretted his impulsiveness. He thought, “She is guilty. That’s why she refuses to admit her problem.” He then remembered what Sienna had said upon waking up. According to her plot, Phoebe is supposed to be in the hospital, wounded, he thought. At that moment, Joshua felt despair. “She’s the person I trusted and protected. How absurd I was!” Joshua thought.
Sienna added, “I know that this misunderstanding resulted from your concern about me, Joslina.”
She then looked at Phoebe and said, “Phoebe, I’m sorry for the misunderstanding.” She seemed to want to end the farce as soon as possible. Phoebe smiled at Sienna. “Sienna, just a misunderstanding!”
“I already swore before the camera that I didn’t take the initiative to harm you.”
“Now, it’s your turn.” Do you have the guts to swear that you didn’t curse me?”
Phoebe was determined to teach Sienna a lesson—a lesson that every evil mind would be punished. Sienna had instigated Joshua to cause trouble for Phoebe, so there came the backlash. Sienna glared at Phoebe. She hated Phoebe, who was determined to humiliate her in public.
“Damn! I got tricked again,” she thought, with tears. Sienna shook her head as she argued, “I didn’t curse you. There is a misunderstanding.”
Phoebe raised her eyebrows. “Swear, so we will know whether there is a misunderstanding. I am not interested in your argument.” “Like me, all the viewers want to hear you swear for your innocence.”
Phoebe pushed Sienna. Instantly, many comments were sent to urge Sienna to swear. As the victim of the backlash, Sienna didn’t dare to sweat. Her inaction would make things worse. After a moment of thought, she looked at Jamar tearfully and pleadingly. She wished Jamar to help her. Jamar’s scalp tingled for Sienna’s gaze.
Joshua had gone to confront Phoebe because of Sienna’s pitiful look. Now, Sienna played the same old trick on Jamar. “Am I that stupid in her eyes?” Jamar couldn’t help but wonder. He now knew that Sienna was the troublemaker and that she got a backlash after her plot failed. “She was indignant after she woke up. Then, she instigated Joshua to slander Phoebe in public. She tried to ruin Phoebe’s reputation,” Jamar thought.
He had been lately alerted that Sienna was sly, but he didn’t expect her to be so evil. It was Sienna who instigated Joshua to confront Phoebe before the camera, though she didn’t let Phoebe’s name cross her lips. Both Jamar and Reece were the witnesses. They had double-checked with Sienna whether she was sure that Phoebe was the culprit. Right before the witnesses, Sienna played the innocent and passed the buck to Joshua.
Jamar felt both disappointed and scared. He wouldn’t fall for the trick that got Joshua trapped. Besides, he didn’t trust Sienna as much as before. Therefore, he shifted his gaze away from Sienna as if he didn’t notice her pleading eyes.
Sienna couldn’t help but think that her brothers had become unreliable. Turning with rage, she looked at Reece. She then saw distance and anger in his eyes. Shocked, she knew that Reece would not help her either.
Reece said with a long face, “Swear now. It is useless to look at me and Jamar.” Sienna could not swear or admit her wrongdoing. In the end, she came up with a solution. She became excited in an instant. “I know nothing about that. How could I curse at her! Why are you pushing me!” She shouted with tears all over her face. “I didn’t. I didn’t curse at her!” Then, she fell backward onto the bed.
Sienna pretended to faint, so nobody would push her to swear anymore. She understood that the netizens would say something harsh about her little trick. However, she couldn’t come up with a better solution at that moment. The other people in the ward and the viewers were dumbfounded. Nobody got fooled by Sienna’s little trick. Most people were convinced that Sienna was guilty because of her evasiveness and timely fainting. They couldn’t help but ridicule her. Some of Sienna’s fans fell silent, and some gave up on Sienna. The rest spoke up for Sienna and scolded Phoebe for pushing Sienna so hard. They didn’t believe stuff like backlashes. They insisted that it was a trap set up by Phoebe to ruin Sienna. They were unreasonable and abused whoever displeased them. They deliberately sent harsh comments to Sienna’s channel because they knew that Phoebe was watching the show.
Phoebe saw those malicious curses. She would love to teach the trolls a lesson, and there came the chance.
