Chapter 203

By the time Cain landed in Darmechia, it was already past 8 PM. He took a taxi straight to the hospital. When he walked into the hospital room, he saw Sienna curled up on the bed, looking pitiful and frail. Her eyes were closed, but her sleep was restless. Her small face was pale, and she was mumbling in her sleep: โ€œIt wasnโ€™t meโ€ฆ I swear it wasnโ€™t meโ€ฆ Joshua, donโ€™t leaveโ€ฆ it wasnโ€™t meโ€ฆ it wasnโ€™t, it wasnโ€™tโ€ฆ Joshua, Jamar, please donโ€™t abandon meโ€ฆ sobโ€ฆโ€

Cain walked over, his heart aching, and gently touched her face. โ€œHow much has she suffered for her to be having nightmares like this?โ€ he thought. The moment his hand touched her, Sienna jerked awake with a scream. She opened her eyes and saw Cain, who had rushed all the way here just for her. Tears immediately streamed down her face. โ€œCainโ€ฆ is it really you?โ€

Cain quickly pulled out a handkerchief and wiped her tears. โ€œItโ€™s me. Iโ€™m here.โ€ Sienna used her good hand to push herself up and threw herself into Cainโ€™s arms. โ€œCain, youโ€™re finally here! It hurts so muchโ€ฆ I feel so awfulโ€ฆ I was so scared.โ€ Cain held her tightly, gently patting her back. โ€œShh, donโ€™t be scared. Cain is here now.โ€ He comforted her for a long time until she finally smiled through her tears.

After chatting for a bit, Cain asked, โ€œSienna, do you want to eat something?โ€ Sienna shook her head. โ€œIโ€™m not hungry. I havenโ€™t had much appetite these past two days. You just got here; you havenโ€™t eaten dinner yet, right?โ€ Cain shrugged. โ€œI had a little something on the plane, so Iโ€™m not that hungry.โ€

Siennaโ€™s eyes flickered with thought. โ€œJoshua and Jamarโ€™s livestream should be ending soon. You should go have a late-night snack with them first, then come back to keep me company.โ€ Those two werenโ€™t visiting her because they still had resentment over what happened. But she knew that if she could see them in person, she could play the victim, act pitiful, and win them over. But if they kept avoiding her, she had no way to even try. So she needed Cain to bring them to her.

Cain frowned. โ€œWhy do I need to see them? I came here for you.โ€ He had zero interest in seeing those heartless brothers right now. Siennaโ€™s eyes reddened, and she leaned against his chest. โ€œJoshua and Jamar misunderstand me. I want to explain, but they wonโ€™t even give me the chance.โ€ She grabbed his hand and pouted. โ€œCain, can you talk to them for me? Tell them not to be mad at me anymore? Iโ€™ll explain and apologize in person. Weโ€™re family โ€“ I donโ€™t want to be estranged from them.โ€

Seeing her looking so fragile and hopeful, Cain felt even more protective. โ€œThose two call themselves her brothers? Sheโ€™s more mature than them!โ€ He sighed. โ€œFine, Iโ€™ll go talk to them. Once they see you and hear you out, theyโ€™ll understand. This whole thing isnโ€™t even your fault โ€“ itโ€™s Phoebe and them being cruel.โ€

Sienna nodded in agreement but pretended to be humble. โ€œI have my faults too. Theyโ€™re only upset at me because of Phoebe. So, Cain, when you talk to them, donโ€™t bring up Phoebe. I donโ€™t want our family to fight because of her anymore.โ€ She couldnโ€™t let Cain dig too deep into what actually happened. Cain patted her head affectionately. โ€œYouโ€™re too kind. Alright, I wonโ€™t mention her.โ€ After comforting her a little longer, he left for Joshua and Jamarโ€™s hotel.

Since Joshua and Jamar had skipped working today, their livestream had already ended after dinner. Meanwhile, the other two groups had gone to the gaming cafรฉ. Phoebe had even invited Andrea, who immediately ditched the three guys. This left Joshua, Jamar, and Reece annoyed and sulking. Joshua was hanging out in Jamarโ€™s room, watching TV, when Jamarโ€™s phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, Jamar muttered, โ€œTen bucks says itโ€™s Cain.โ€ Joshua rolled his eyes. โ€œOf course it is. That guy got here fast.โ€ It was painfully obvious who Cain cared about most.

When Joshua had been injured before, he had asked Cain to bring him something at the hospital. Cain had taken his sweet time, only showing up the next day, despite being in the same city. Yet for Sienna? He had crossed two countries overnight to see her. Joshua felt bitter. โ€œDamn. Guess I know where I rank now.โ€

Jamar answered the call and put it on speaker. โ€œCain, you made it to Darmechia?โ€ Cainโ€™s voice came through. โ€œIโ€™m already at your hotel. What room are you guys in?โ€ Jamar and Joshua exchanged puzzled glances. โ€œWerenโ€™t you supposed to be taking care of Sienna? Why are you here?โ€ After reporting the room number, Cain headed up in the elevator. โ€œI already visited Sienna. She asked me to come find you two. Iโ€™ll explain when I get up there.โ€ Then he hung up.

Jamar sighed. โ€œHeโ€™s here to drag us to the hospital, isnโ€™t he?โ€ Joshua groaned. โ€œDefinitely. But Iโ€™m not going. I donโ€™t want to see Sienna before we fly home.โ€ Jamar nodded in agreement. โ€œThen weโ€™re not going.โ€ Moments later, there was a knock on the door. Jamar opened it, letting Cain in. Cain glanced around the room with disgust. โ€œDamn. This place is pathetic.โ€ Jamar shrugged. โ€œWeโ€™re broke.โ€

Cain looked at them with pity. โ€œYou guys really brought this on yourselves.โ€ Then, with a smirk, he added, โ€œWant me to book you a better hotel?โ€ Preferably one near the hospital, where they could take turns staying overnight with Sienna. Joshua and Jamar immediately saw through him. โ€œNo need,โ€ they rejected in unison. โ€œWeโ€™re working. If you book us a hotel, thatโ€™s cheating.โ€ They didnโ€™t want to stay with Cain. And his mocking tone was seriously annoying. Cain rolled his eyes. โ€œYou guys are way too serious.โ€

Then he got to the point. โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong with you two? You just left Sienna alone in the hospital? When I got there, she was curled up, muttering in her sleep, saying she wasnโ€™t at fault, begging you not to abandon her. Youโ€™re being too cruel.โ€ Joshua and Jamar exchanged skeptical looks. How convenient that Cain arrived just as she was โ€œdreamingโ€ about this exact scenario. But they knew there was no point arguing. Cain would never believe them. So they simply shrugged it off.

โ€œYeah, yeah. Weโ€™re the worst. So now that youโ€™re here, Siennaโ€™s your problem.โ€ Cain was speechless. โ€œYou admit youโ€™re in the wrong, but you still wonโ€™t go see her?โ€ Jamar sighed dramatically. โ€œWeโ€™re working. We donโ€™t have time.โ€ Then, gripping his stomach, he added, โ€œPlus, my stomach hurts. I need someone to take care of me too โ€“ going to the hospital would just be a hassle.โ€ Joshua pointed at his throat, voice hoarse. โ€œSame. Iโ€™m still sick.โ€ Cain was speechless. โ€œYou two are completely useless.โ€

Then he turned to Joshua, angry. โ€œYou originally joined this show to take care of Sienna! But look at you now โ€“ you let her get hurt, and now youโ€™re bullying her too?!โ€
