Chapter 215

Seeing Andrea’s actions, Phoebe guessed she was about to reveal something important. She took the paper and read it.

[My personal phone is bugged, so I can’t say this out loud. The last episode of the reality show… they’re planning something. They want Sienna to recover and continue participating, so they’ll find a way to delay the next season by a month.]

Phoebe nodded and wrote back. [They’re insisting on keeping Sienna in the show—because they’re planning to use her against me.]

Andrea wrote: [Yes. You and Sienna are deeply connected. If they want to deal with you, using Sienna is the most direct and effective way. I’ve been cursed, so I can’t speak or write about highly confidential matters. But I believe that once you dig into certain things, you’ll be able to connect the dots. The next season is likely to take place in Galuwa—be careful.]

Phoebe wasn’t unfamiliar with Galuwa. She had been there a few times with her master. It was a city that had perfectly preserved its ancient architecture, with no modern buildings. No cars were allowed inside; people traveled by horse-drawn carriages and ox carts. The city was deeply rooted in antiques, horoscope studies, and metaphysics. If they chose Galuwa for the next season, they clearly had a specific purpose.

Phoebe asked: [Are you going too!]

Andrea: [Most likely. I can’t escape from this, so I might as well take the chance to fight back. Maybe I can break free from this so-called ‘predestined fate.’]

That was why she hadn’t suggested that Phoebe drop out of the next season or try to change the location. Even if they avoided it this time, what about the next? Instead of running, it was better to prepare in advance and face it head-on.

Phoebe nodded in agreement. [Exactly. If there’s no way to escape, we might as well fight.] She felt the same way. In her previous life, it was as if everything had been orchestrated—leading to that final, tragic outcome. There was no escaping it. But this time, she wasn’t just going to survive—she was going to take control of her own fate. And, of course, she was going to get revenge.

Now that she knew the next season would be in Galuwa, she could prepare accordingly.

Phoebe wrote: [Thanks for the warning.]

[You’re the key to breaking it. I want to work with you. And just so you know—]

Andrea wrote back. [You’re welcome. I’m part of this game too, but I really am your fan. That part’s not fake.]

She genuinely admired Phoebe’s personality—bold, unafraid to love or hate. Phoebe had cut off her so-called family without hesitation and dealt with them however she pleased—leaving them speechless. She openly fought back against those who wronged her, and won every time. Andrea envied that. Unlike Hoele, she had always been passive, forced to follow a path set by others. Even when she wanted to resist, she had to do it in secret—otherwise, the people she cared about would suffer.

From the very first episode of the reality show, Andrea had been watching. She saw that Phoebe was the kind of person she wished she could be. Belur she knew it, she had become a fan. Thorls’ simited (Thanks for your support.) She was grateful for every fan and truly treasured them. A celebrity’s success wasn’t just about talent, management, or marketing. In the end, it was her fans who were the reason she stood where she was today. After returning to her home country, she was planning to give back to her fans.

Andrea wrote: [If there’s anything you want to ask me, I’ll tell you whatever I can.]

Andrea came down to the family. Phoebe thought for a moment, then wrote: [Is your biological father the same as the man you call Dad now?]

Andrea immediately understood what she was asking. She shook her head and wrote: [No. Stenna and I are my mom’s illegitimate children. She had us behind my dad’s back.]

Phoebe asked: [Reynard isn’t his biological son either?]

Andrea [No. He’s also an illegitimate child.]

Phoebe [Have you ever met your real father?]

Andrea [Never. But I suspect he’s the “kind man” my mother used to mention. Every time I was assigned to do something, it came through phone calls and letters. There are things I know, but because of the hex-branding, I literally can’t say or write them.]

Phoebe was surprised. She hadn’t expected their biological father to be so secretive—none of them had ever met him. As for the hex-branding preventing Andrea from speaking or writing about certain topics—that wasn’t unexpected. Phoebe knew about such curses. If a person was branded from birth, the effects were strongest and most difficult to break. Reversing it required very specific conditions. However, if it was cast after they had grown up, breaking the curse would be much easier. Given Andrea’s situation, she was likely cursed at birth—along with her siblings. It was—probably their father’s way of ensuring that they could never rebel or reveal secrets. But this kind of curse was illegal in departments and horoscope societies. No wonder Reynard, even when captured, had seemed so confident. If he was cursed, then unless someone broke it, no one could force him to talk.

Phoebe wrote: [Does Sienna know?]

Andrea: [That idiot doesn’t even know she’s an illegitimate child, let alone any of this. Reynard is the one controlling her.]

That explained why Sienna had always looked down on their legal father. Phoebe thought for a moment. Sienna had schemes and manipulative tendencies, but compared to Soren or Andrea, she was an amateur. And the worst part—she didn’t even realize it.

Phorbe: [Have you ever studied the horoscope and metaphysics!]

Andrea. [No. Neither Sienna nor I were allowed to. The curse also prevents us from learning. We were created for a specific purpose—to be used and controlled.]

Phoebe frowned. If Andrea and Sienna were controlled to prevent them from learning, then why could Soren and Reynard—

She asked: [But Reynard is highly skilled in it, is he?] She didn’t mention Soren. She wasn’t sure if Andrea knew about him—or whether he was a potential ally or hidden enemy.

Andrea wrote: That’s because he’s male. The curse only applies to daughters. I think it’s because we were born ‘for different purposes.’ But I don’t know the full reason.

Phoebe finally understood. So daughters were forbidden from learning. That explained why Edith didn’t know anything either.

Phoebe wrote: [Besides the three of you, do you know of any other siblings?]

Andrea: [I suspect there are more like us, but I don’t know who they are. The people behind this keep us from finding each other. Aside from me, Sienna, and Reynard, I don’t know anyone else. But I do know that besides us, there are likely others in the entertainment industry. They need faith power converted into luck. The more popular we become, the stronger our luck, and that benefits them. But I don’t believe they’re helping us out of kindness. Luck isn’t free. I have a feeling that when we’ve grown fat enough we’ll be slaughtered.]
