Chapter 232

That evening, Leon returned home. Earlier, Frank had started a group video call, and Leon was still holding his phone, chatting with Frank and Reece as he pushed open his bedroom door. The next second, he froze. Someone was sitting inside, the dim glow of a single desk lamp casting long shadows. Looking closer, he realized it was Sienna. His heart skipped a beat. Regret immediately surged through him; he should have locked his door before leaving.

Suppressing the unease creeping over him, he stepped inside. At the same time, his phone's camera shifted, now broadcasting his room's view to Frank and Reece. Both of them were just as startled but remained silent, watching intently like an audience to a live show.

Leon looked at Sienna in shock. โ€œSienna, what are you doing in my room?โ€ His phone rested against his chest, its camera still aimed at her. An uneasy feeling settled in his gut, and he didn't want to end the call. Even if it was just through the screen, having his two friends there made him feel slightly reassured.

Sienna was wearing a sleek black silk slip dress that perfectly outlined her curves. Her eyes shimmered with allure as she gazed at Leon. โ€œLeon, didnโ€™t you say that if I dared to come looking for you, youโ€™d dare to take me? So, here I am.โ€

She had thought long and hard about what happened that day, and in her mind, it was all Leonโ€™s fault. If he hadnโ€™t rejected her at the start, the others wouldnโ€™t have followed suit. Besides, she desperately wanted her beauty restored, and she needed better luck for the next reality show. Just taking a third of Cainโ€™s luck might not be enough. But since Cain would be participating in the show with her, she couldnโ€™t take too much eitherโ€”otherwise, heโ€™d be too unlucky, and it might drag her down as well.

After weighing her options, she decided Leon was her best target. After all, he was the one who had been so ruthless toward her. She also suspected that Joshua and Jamnar had been influenced by Leonโ€”otherwise, they would never have treated her that way before. And besides, he was the one who had boldly claimed heโ€™d take her. That excuse was perfectโ€”it made her plan even easier to execute. Leon was the most handsome of the Jenkins brothers, with his tall, lean, well-proportioned figure. She wouldnโ€™t be losing out. And if things ever went south in the Jenkins family, she could even use this against Elliot and Lydia to force her way into staying.

Though she didnโ€™t say it outright, Leon understood all too well what she meant by โ€œdaring to take her.โ€ He was speechless. So she had set her sights on him! Now, he was absolutely certainโ€”Sienna saw him as nothing more than a fool to be exploited.

He formed an awkward smile. โ€œI was just joking. You actually took it seriously?โ€

Sienna chuckled, her voice dripping with honeyed mischief. โ€œBut I did take it seriously.โ€ She deliberately dragged out her words, her tone filled with flirtation. โ€œI really like you, Leon.โ€

Leon, however, felt none of the charm. Instead, a chill ran down his spine.

He quickly said, โ€œWell, Iโ€™m not interested in you. Let me take you back to your room.โ€ Right now, all he wanted was to get rid of this ticking time bomb as soon as possible. He was scared. Really scared.

Sienna smiled and extended her arms toward him. โ€œAlright, then carry me back.โ€

Leon was speechless. He took a deep breath and firmly refused. โ€œNo way. If Dad finds out, heโ€™ll make me kneel outside as punishment.โ€ The smile on Siennaโ€™s face faltered slightly. โ€œBut you were the one who said that if I came looking for you, youโ€™d take me,โ€ she pouted. โ€œMen are such liars.โ€

Leon felt a shiver of disgust. โ€œJust pretend I never said that, alright?โ€ If he had known Sienna was like this, he would never have uttered those words in the first place.

But Sienna wasnโ€™t giving up. โ€œI canโ€™t just pretend. I took it seriously.โ€

Leon was starting to lose patience. โ€œFine, believe whatever you want. Iโ€™m not playing along.โ€ His face darkened as he warned, โ€œEither you leave on your own, or Iโ€™ll have your etiquette teacher come and escort you out.โ€

Sienna gritted her teeth in frustration. This scumbag was going back on his word. Fine. If he wasnโ€™t going to cooperate willingly, sheโ€™d just have to resort to other means.

Her expression cooled. โ€œAlright, since you donโ€™t mean what you say, I wonโ€™t push it. Just help me into my wheelchair and take me back.โ€

Leon wasnโ€™t falling for it. โ€œYou got in here on your own. You can get back in the wheelchair the same way. Our parents are keeping a close watch, and so is your etiquette teacherโ€”Iโ€™m not about to cross any lines.โ€

Sienna was speechless. He was acting like he was some cautious, rule-abiding guy, when in reality, he was the boldest one in the family. This was beyond frustrating. She had practically delivered herself to his doorstep, and yet he was turning her away. How dare he ignore her charms? This was humiliation.

Reluctantly, she stretched out her hand. โ€œFine, then just help me up.โ€

Leon frowned. โ€œWhy do I have to help you? You can clearly do it yourself.โ€ At this point, he was wary of everything she did.

Sienna saw his cold attitude and felt even more enraged. With a huff, she struggled back into her wheelchair on her own. Once seated, she turned to him. โ€œThen at least push me back to my room. Thatโ€™s not too much to ask, right?โ€

Leon just wanted to get rid of her as quickly as possible. โ€œFine, Iโ€™ll push you back.โ€ He suspected she had something up her sleeve, likely trying to lure him into her room to make a scene. So, he made up his mindโ€”he would drop her off at the door and leave immediately.

With that, he walked over and started pushing her wheelchair toward the hallway. His phone, still in his shirt pocket, had its camera peeking out. Just a few steps in, Sienna suddenly grabbed his hand. Then, with a sultry gaze, she whispered, โ€œLeon, share some of your luck with me, okay?โ€

Leonโ€™s entire body tensed. He instinctively tried to yank his hand awayโ€”but for some reason, he felt his will slipping. At that moment, an inexplicable urge consumed him, making him want to give Sienna whatever she wanted. He nodded slightly. โ€œI agrโ€”โ€

Before he could finish the sentence, a sudden heat flared against his chest. The sensation jolted him back to his senses. His survival instincts kicked in, and he immediately shoved Siennaโ€™s hand away, stumbling back several steps. His heart pounded as he glared at her. โ€œWhat did you just do to me?โ€

His hand flew to his chest. Thank god. The talisman he had casually bought from Phoebe through Frank had actually worked. Originally, he had just gotten it for peace of mind, never expecting it to actually save him.

Sienna was stunned. โ€˜How did he snap out of it so quickly?โ€™ She had lit a specially made incense in the room and used a Charming Talisman Reynard had given her. It was supposed to make anyone who touched her lose their rationality for a short periodโ€”enough time to make him agree to her request. But just as she was about to succeed, he had broken free. And what was even strangerโ€”wasnโ€™t he supposed to forget everything after being under its influence? Yet Leon not only rememberedโ€”he immediately realized something was off. This incense and talisman were a scam.

Sienna feigned innocence. โ€œI just touched your hand. Whatโ€™s wrong, Leon?โ€ Then, with teary eyes, she pouted. โ€œDo you really hate me that much?โ€

Leon shuddered. โ€œYes. So stop bothering me.โ€ He glanced downโ€”his talisman had burned away. If Sienna tried again, he was doomed. Without hesitation, he bolted out the door. Sienna sat there, speechless. Did he really have to run like she was some kind of monster?
