Chapter 235

After being exposed by Phoebe, Leon felt a bit embarrassed. He hadnโ€™t expected that, in her eyes, his image was already that bad. It was all those two bastardsโ€™ faultโ€”always running their mouths. But honestly, if he hadnโ€™t known about Siennaโ€™s tricks, he might not have rejected her. She had already boldly come to himโ€”so what was there to be afraid of? It would have just been a casual fling. But now, thinking back, he felt a lingering sense of fear.

Frank: [What a shame. If Leon had let himself become a luck host like me, at least Iโ€™d have some company.]

Leon: [Get lost. Who the hell wants to be your companion?]

The last thing he wanted was for Sienna to leech off his luck. He quickly tagged Phoebe in the group chat.

Leon: [Phoebe, can I buy two more talismans?]

Without a talisman, he felt completely exposed. Right now, he was like a walking meal for Siennaโ€”he had to stay on guard at all times.

Phoebe: [Sure. 2 million dollars.]

Leon: [No problem. Iโ€™ll transfer the money now. Should I come over to get them?]

Two million was a lot, but if money could solve the problem, then it wasnโ€™t a problem. His luck and life were more important.

Phoebe: [Yeah, come over.]

Joshua and Jamar had been quietly watching the conversation. Hearing this, Joshua spoke up. โ€œLeon, ask Phoebe if she can make one for us too.โ€

Leon had almost fallen for Siennaโ€™s trapโ€”what about them? Without a talisman, wouldnโ€™t they be like sitting ducks?

Jamar nodded furiously. โ€œYeah, yeah! We want them too. Weโ€™ll pay.โ€

Leon also didnโ€™t want his brothers to get trapped, so he tagged Phoebe again. She didnโ€™t refuse and told them to send the money.

For Sienna, stealing too much of the Jenkins brothersโ€™ luck wasnโ€™t a good thing. After all, she and Sienna were oppositesโ€”as Siennaโ€™s luck rose, Phoebeโ€™s would be suppressed. So, she had no issue helping these three idiots. Of course, the price wasnโ€™t up for negotiation.

Joshua and Jamar let out a sigh of relief when she agreed.

Jamar sighed, โ€œPhoebe really is the best.โ€

Joshua echoed, โ€œYeahโ€ฆ she really is.โ€

What the hell had they been thinking all these years?

Jamar sighed again, heavier this time. โ€œPhoebe said our blind devotion to Sienna wasnโ€™t because of a spellโ€”it was just our own stupidity.โ€

โ€œThat also meansโ€ฆ sheโ€™s never going to forgive us.โ€

The weight of that realization made the other two just as uncomfortable.

Leon exhaled and stood up. โ€œAlright, letโ€™s go get our talismans. I donโ€™t even want to step foot in this house without one.โ€

Even after getting a new talisman, he was planning to stay somewhere else for a while. Living at home was too dangerousโ€”heโ€™d have to be on edge 24/7.

Joshua and Jamar stood up as well. โ€œYeah, letโ€™s get the talismans first.โ€

They were scared too. And just like Leon, they were now thinking the same thingโ€”maybe it was time to move out for a while.

As Leon and his brothers left, Sienna went to find Cain. Leon had escaped. Both the incense and the talisman had failed. She was so frustrated she felt like coughing up bloodโ€”but for now, there was nothing she could do about him. She went back to her room and checked her hand. Even with layers of foundation, she could barely cover the dark spots appearing on her skin. She couldnโ€™t afford to wait any longer. Cain was her best option now. And with the other brothers gone, there was no one to stop her.

Cain poured her a glass of water. โ€œSienna, why are your eyes red again?โ€

Before coming, Sienna had deliberately cried to make herself look pitiful. She lowered her head and murmured, โ€œItโ€™s nothing.โ€

Cain frowned. โ€œDid someone upset you?โ€

Sienna bit her lip. โ€œNot exactlyโ€ฆ but Leon said he hates me.โ€

She sighed, her voice full of grievance. โ€œI donโ€™t even know why Leon, Joshua, and Jamar have been treating me so coldly lately. Itโ€™s not like I did anything to themโ€ฆโ€

Then, she casually slipped in the real reason. โ€œBut I guess it makes senseโ€”they only care about Phoebe now.โ€

Cainโ€™s expression darkened slightly. Reaching out, he patted her head. โ€œTheyโ€™re just being stupid. Ignore them. Iโ€™ll talk to them later. If they wonโ€™t take care of you, you still have me.โ€

Sienna leaned into his shoulder and wrapped her arms around him. โ€œI only have you now, Cainโ€ฆโ€

Then, she lifted her head slightly, her voice soft and pleading. โ€œCain, Iโ€™ve been so unlucky lately. Can you lend me some of your luck? Iโ€™ll return it once things get better for me.โ€

If everything went according to plan, she would soon steal Phoebeโ€™s luck completely. Then, once she skyrocketed in the entertainment industry and had more luck than she could use, she wouldnโ€™t mind paying Cain back.

Cain chuckled. โ€œItโ€™s just luckโ€”take as much as you want.โ€

Siennaโ€™s eyes lit up. โ€œReally? Youโ€™re giving me some of your luck?โ€

Cain nodded. โ€˜Of course. Go ahead.โ€™

Sienna beamed. โ€œCain, youโ€™re the best! I love you the most!โ€

After staying with him for a bit longer, she pretended to be tired, letting Cain send her back to her room. Once she was alone, she pulled out a bowl of water and a talisman. Using a pen, she wrote Cainโ€™s name and birth chart on the talisman. Then, she lit it on fire and dropped it into the water.

If anyone else had been there, they would have been shocked. Because the talisman didnโ€™t go out in the waterโ€”instead, it continued to burn underwater until it was reduced to ashes. The ashes instantly dissolved into the water, leaving no trace behind. Seeing this, Siennaโ€™s eyes shone with excitement. She lifted the bowl and drank every last drop. As soon as she finished, she felt it. Her weakened luck would soon return. And soon, her flawless beauty would be restored.

Leon and his brothers arrived at Phoebeโ€™s apartment. She didnโ€™t waste timeโ€”she took a sample of their energy and started drawing the talismans. Originally, she told them they could pick them up tomorrow. But none of them wanted to wait. Instead, they sat and waited for two full hours while Phoebe finished drawing the talismans for them. After handing them the completed talismans, she once again stressed the time-sensitive nature of the protection.

Jamar, trying to find an excuse to chat with her a little longer, hesitated before speaking. But before he could get a word in, Phoebe directly kicked them out. With no choice, the three brothers left the apartment with their talismans in hand. And it was obviousโ€”Phoebe still had no patience for them.

After the three of them returned home, when they arrived home, they immediately ran into Cain, who was downstairs, rummaging for food. He seemed strangely hungry, stuffing his mouth as fast as he could while glancing at them.

โ€œWhy are the three of you hanging out together?โ€ Cain asked.

A weird feeling crept up on himโ€”as if his brothers had started leaving him out. For some reason, that made him deeply uncomfortable.

Leon answered casually, โ€œWe went out to have some fun. Just got back.โ€

His gaze swept over the empty plates and the pile of snack wrappers scattered across the table. โ€œAre you starving to death or something?โ€

Now that he mentioned it, Joshua and Jamar also noticed that Cain had eaten way more than usual.

Joshua frowned. โ€œAre you okay?โ€

Jamar added, โ€œYeah, since when do you eat like this?โ€

Cain had never had such a huge appetite before. Something about this just didnโ€™t feel right.
