Chapter 31

Sienna was furious; Jamar and Reece both thought Maddox was being incredibly rude. Only Erika, sitting off to the side, was secretly pleased. She felt that Sienna, acting so fake, deserved someone like Maddox, with his sharp tongue, to put her in her place. Maddox was practically an expert at sniffing out fake behavior.

Seeing Siennaโ€™s face turn pale with anger, Jamar felt a pang of sympathy. โ€œSienna, donโ€™t pay attention to him. Your omelets are really good, way better than any sandwich. I love eating them.โ€ To prove his point, Jamar grabbed a few more omelets and made a show of enjoying them, eating them all.

Watching those three enjoy their food made me drool and feel hungry, but seeing Jamar eat thisโ€ฆ Iโ€™m suddenly full. Damar really loves his sister. I wonder if heโ€™ll ever find a wife.

Soon, Jamarโ€™s fans jumped into the fray, arguing with others. Sienna wanted to prove she could do just as well as Phoebe, but instead, she ended up highlighting the contrast. In the end, there were still quite a few omelets left on the plate because they were just that bad, which gave plenty of viewers material to poke fun at.

Meanwhile, Phoebe and her group went to help a family catch fish, a plan they had arranged with them earlier. They fished all morning and made lunch afterward. By the afternoon, they worked until a little past three. After finishing up, besides their pay, the family also gifted them two fish.

When the four of them returned to the yard with the fish, they found Jamar already back, running back and forth to the bathroom. Seeing this, Maddox asked as Jamar came out, โ€œDid you eat too many omelets this morning?โ€

Jamar was speechless, thinking, โ€œThis guy is getting more annoying by the minute!โ€ But when Jamar saw Phoebe, his eyes lit up like he had found a lifeline. โ€œPhrebs, please get me some medicine for diarrhea.โ€ At this moment, Jamar was feeling awful, his legs weak, regretting how many omelets he had eaten earlier. Moreover, Jamar knew Phoebe understood medicine. Once, when they were out barbecuing, Jamar and Cain had gotten food poisoning, and Phoebe had found herbs to brew for them, and it worked wonders.

Phoebe understood what Jamar meant but wasnโ€™t willing to help. She said, โ€œYou just overdid it. Youโ€™ll be fine after a few more trips to the bathroom.โ€ Jamar didnโ€™t reply, but he felt she was mocking him indirectly. Then he put on a pitiful look, begging, โ€œYou wouldnโ€™t want to see me suffer, right?โ€

In the past, Phoebe would have fallen for this routine and rushed to help him. But this time, she shrugged. โ€œWhy would I care! Weโ€™re not that close.โ€ Jamar never expected Phoebe to be so heartless. โ€œYouโ€™re so cruel.โ€ Phoebe nodded. โ€œYep, my heart is made of stone.โ€ Maddox gave Phoebe a thumbs-up. He liked her tough attitude.

Jamar, this is how you show your love for your sister. You should remember this experience and take note, Maddox teased. Jamar could tell Maddox was mocking him and shot back, โ€œYou shouldnโ€™t be standing there without a care.โ€ Maddox raised an eyebrow, replying, โ€œIโ€™m standing just fine, thanks. My health is great.โ€

Jamar was stumped. โ€œYou!โ€ But before he could finish, his stomach twisted again, and he rushed back to the bathroom. Maddox turned to the others and said, โ€œThis is just how he loves his sister.โ€ Lesse chimed in, โ€œItโ€™s funny how Jamar is in such bad shape, yet Sienna isnโ€™t here to care for him.โ€

Ever since Lexie learned about their relationship with Phoebe, she felt a bit irked. Plus, Lexie questioned it genuinely. She thought Jamarโ€™s always doting on Sienna, yet itโ€™s Siennaโ€™s omelets that have him running to the bathroom like this. Why isnโ€™t she here looking after him! Moreover, Jamar has just tried to order Phoebe around, which is quite shameless.

Maddox shrugged. โ€œI donโ€™t know. Maybe heโ€™s just a one-sided pampering brother.โ€ Then he changed the subject. โ€œArenโ€™t the kids supposed to be coming soon!โ€ Phoebe confirmed, โ€œYes, the village chief called earlier to say that a dozen kids will come over to learn today.โ€ Maddox, excited since he had never taught before, said, โ€œThen we should hurry up and get ready.โ€ So the four of them began preparing for the kidsโ€™ arrival.

Meanwhile, Jamarโ€™s fans were busy bashing Phoebe for being cold-hearted and selfish, criticizing Maddox for being overly harsh. Then they checked another livestream, where Sienna was picking a fight with Reece, laughing and joking. It couldnโ€™t help but stir up some discontent. Noticing this, the fans began to think that Sienna was quite incompetent. If it werenโ€™t for Jamar supporting her, how could she have ended up inโ€ฆ

Before long, a group of kids of different ages walked into the yard, led by the village chief. After introducing themselves, Maddox and his group shared their specialties and let the kids choose what they wanted to learn. Maddox taught guitar, James taught painting, Lexie taught singing, and Phoebe offered to help with homework.

Then the kids picked their teachers based on their interests. One teenager looked at Phoebe and asked, โ€œCan you help me with my homework?โ€ The kid was home on break and heard from the village chef that someone could assist with their studies, so he came over.

Phoebe smiled and replied, โ€œSure. I can help with that.โ€ She waved him over. โ€œCome sit, and feel free to ask me anything you donโ€™t understand.โ€ In the comments, Jamarโ€™s fans began to criticize her.

The boy, having never seen such a pretty lady, walked over and sat down shyly. He pulled out a math worksheet from his backpack and pointed to a problem, saying, โ€œMs. Jenkins, I canโ€™t solve this one.โ€ Phoebe leaned in and scanned it quickly. Then she took the draft paper and pen from him and started explaining. โ€œThis problem isโ€ฆโ€

Soon, Phoebe went into detail. And when she finished, she asked, โ€œDid you understand?โ€ The boy nodded eagerly, his eyes bright. โ€œI got it! You explain things so well, Ms. Jenkins!โ€ Then the boy asked Phoebe several questions, covering math, physics, and chemistry. Phoebe only needed to glance at each question to explain it quickly. She made sure to start from the basics and build up, reinforcing the relevant knowledge along the way.

Those people who called her a fake genius must feel pretty silly right now. Phoebe is awesome!
