The three men were now visibly anxious, especially the one responsible for the murder. He gritted his teeth and shouted, “We’re here in Galuwa for a visit. We always stay at the hotel; there’s no backyard or anything like that.”

Jake quickly added, “That’s right. We’ve been staying at a hotel in Oriar. No backyard.”

They stayed in a hotel in Orlar these past couple of days. He turned to the officers and said, “If you don’t believe us, you can check with the hotel.”

Phoebe raised an eyebrow. “You can argue all you want, but it won’t help you.”

She turned to the officers. “I can tell you where they bought the house, and it would be great if you could check it out.”

“After all, not only is an innocent girl locked up there, but there’s also a body buried in that yard. It’s connected to a murder case.”

Hearing this, the officers were immediately on edge.

“Alright, we’ll head to the yard and check it out.”

They turned to the three men. “If what she’s saying isn’t true, we’ll clear your name and deal with it accordingly.”

If this was true, these three men were the ones they were after. The three tried to resist, desperately continuing their lies to avoid the yard, but it was futile. They were taken along, out of the city.

At the heart of Galuwa was Orlar, surrounded by residential homes. There were no towering skyscrapers—just single-story houses with yards.

Phoebe studied the men’s facial features and aura as they walked, quietly making calculations in her mind. The livestream camera followed closely, and the crowd that had been watching earlier trailed behind.

They stopped in a narrow alley, where only one house stood, the yard gate at the back.

Phoebe spoke, “This is it.”

As they reached the yard, the fear in the eyes of Jake and the other two was unmistakable. They thought, ‘We didn’t expect Phoebe to be so skilled, able to figure all this out.’

But they still refused to admit it was their yard, denying it and refusing to produce the key.

Phoebe turned to Reece. “Jake has the key in his pouch. Why don’t you get it and open the door?”

Reece turned, and sure enough, he found a set of keys in Jake’s pouch.

Jake thought, ‘I’d love to kick Reece right now. He is worthless.’

Reece stepped forward and tried a few keys, eventually unlocking the gate.

At that moment, those uncertain, even disbelieving, stood frozen. The door opened.

That could only mean one thing—this was indeed their yard.

The door creaked open, and Phoebe stepped inside alone.

A door opened, and a man, looking as if he’d just woken up, stepped out. He froze when he saw Phoebe and the others and asked, “Who are you!”

Seeing Jake and the other two behind her, the man froze and respectfully said, “Ollie, you’re back.”

Jake and the other two could barely contain their rage. They thought, “How dare he shout at us without even considering the situation?”

They had been trying to deny everything until now, but there was no way out.

The murderer was the most panicked of all.

Jake and the blonde-haired man thought, ‘How can we escape this?’

Phoebe pointed to a room in the corner. “The girl they’ve been keeping is in that room.”

The man who had just stepped out looked visibly shaken at her mention. He also noticed the police officers in uniform.

The thought. Tin panicking. I don’t know what to do. He tried to flee but realized a crowd had followed in, blocking the path to the door.

Bearing the situation, the officer quickly approached and opened it.

His face changed when he saw what was inside. There were three women, their hands and feet bound, their mouths taped shut.

Upon seeing the officers, the women burst into tears, vividly recounting what happened. The cameraman followed, recording the scene for the live stream. (Jake and the other two for their lack of humanity…) The viewers were initially shocked, but soon began angrily criticizing them.

The officers rescued the women and asked them what had happened. They then learned that the women had been traveling together to Criar. One evening, they went to a bar together. A few days ago, they met Jake and the other two in Criar, who invited them to go sightseeing.

After a few drinks, they started to feel dizzy and disoriented. Jake and the others offered to take them back to the hotel, but instead, they brought them to this yard and locked them up.

They had overheard the men talking, and it terrified them—they were planning to sell them overseas. They had no way to escape, as they were constantly guarded.

And from how the men spoke, they planned to violate them once Ollie and the other two returned.

They regretted ever agreeing to travel with strangers, especially after being charmed by Jake and the other two. They seemed so smooth and convincing at the time, unlike most people.

Jake had even shown them his social media profile, making them think it was just a casual outing with a few drinks—nothing to worry about. Little did they know that people were far more dangerous than they appeared.

Once the women were rescued, the officers trusted Phoebe’s abilities. One of them asked, “You mentioned there was a body buried in the yard. Where exactly?”

Phoebe calmly replied, “It’s under the big tree in the backyard. Dig about 30 feet, and you’ll find it.”

Since this involved a significant case, the officers immediately reported to their superiors. They grabbed a shovel and headed to the backyard, digging by the tree as Phoebe had indicated.

Meanwhile, one of Jake’s men sat on the ground, his body shaking. He thought, ‘It’s over. I’m done for. I regret going after Phoebe, but now I hate…’

A while later, the officers, following Phoebe’s directions, unearthed two bodies from beneath the tree. The live stream camera hadn’t focused on this, but the viewers knew—there were indeed bodies under the tree.

The officers began questioning the man who had committed the murders about the two bodies. Now that his crimes were discovered, he stopped trying to deny it.

He admitted that he had lured the two victims here from out of town. One had fought back so fiercely when he attacked that he accidentally killed her. The other had been locked in the yard while he went off to have some fun, only to return a week later to find the person had died.

After confessing, he pointed at Jake. “He was involved too.”

“He not only played with the other two, but also helped bury the bodies.”

The man knew Jake had a powerful Ophelia behind him, and he was counting on her influence to help them all escape. He deliberately dragged Jake into it, hoping for intervention on their behalf. His mind, already clouded by evil energy, had utterly lost its previous sense of rationality and control.

He thought, If I’m suffering, Jake won’t get off easy either.

Jake was stunned for a moment. His face twisted in anger as he yelled, “Bullshit! I didn’t know there were bodies buried under that damn tree!”

“How could I have helped bury them?” “I never laid a hand on those two.”
