Chapter 360
The courtyard where one of the senior members of the Horoscope Association lived. Gardner quickly stepped inside, stopping only when he reached the entrance of the main courtyard. He said respectfully, โMaster, I am here.โ
An aged voice came from inside the room, โCome in.โ Gardner stiffened upon hearing it. His master must have suffered a backlash. This was a voice that had not been heard for over twenty years. His face turned even paler as he stepped into the room.
Inside, Gardner saw his master, who had aged decades in an instant. From looking like he was in his twenties, he now appeared to be in his fifties or sixties. The seated man opened his eyes, his gaze filled with cold sharpness. โWhat happened to Sienna?โ
Gardner immediately knelt. โMaster, Sienna brought this upon herself.โ He explained everything: Sienna had been afflicted with a dark sorcery curse, which had already put her in an unstable condition, and how he had suffered a backlash during a magical duel just now.
The seated man frowned. โAre you sure it was Phoche?โ Gardner nodded. โYes, I am certain that voice belonged to Phoebe.โ
โBut is she really that powerful?โ The seated man found it hard to believe that Phoebe could have broken the curse so easily. He asked, โCould someone else have intervened? Did you sense any other presence during the duel?โ
Gardner shook his head. โNo, I only detected one presence.โ
The seated man, however, said, โThere was definitely a second person. Itโs just that they were too powerful for you to notice.โ โWith Phoebeโs cultivation and strength, she could not have simultaneously fought you and broken the curse so quickly.โ
Gardner agreed. โI think so too.โ He thought for a moment, then pointed upward. โMaster, could it be that he interfered? During the live stream earlier, he said he could break the curse. If Raylan had stepped in, then losing the duel would make perfect sense.โ
The seated man let out a cold snort. โUseless. Do you really need to state the obvious?โ He also suspected that Raylan had intervened. If that was the case, things would get troublesome.
Gardner felt his heart tighten, his body trembling slightly. โMaster, I was wrong.โ He knew that if his master became displeased and abandoned him, his fate would be miserable.
Suddenly, the seated man changed the subject. โWhat about Una?โ
Gardner replied, โStar was afflicted with the curse originally meant for Phoebe, and combined with the backlash from tampering with luck, she is barely clinging to life now. She was a fool as well.โ
After thinking for a moment, the seated man said, โWithin three days, have someone bring Una to the Horoscope Association. When she arrives, bring Sienna along as well immediately.โ He emphasized, โSienna is a critical piece that cannot be discarded. She is very important. You will remain by her side. If anything happens to her again, donโt bother coming back.โ
Gardner sighed in relief and respectfully responded, โYes.โ
Chapter 360 (Continued)
After his disciple left, the seated man grew more impatient. He desperately wanted to know whether the person who had broken the curse was Master Larut. So, he picked up his phone and sent a message to Ophelia.
In another courtyard, Sienna, who had been writhing on the ground, finally felt the excruciating sensation disappear. It was as if she had been reborn. This pain was far worse, more unbearable than the humiliation of being defeated by Phoebe. More importantly, she felt like she had lost nearly one-third of something vital.
Sienna struggled to stand up, her entire body weak, her legs feeling as though they were stepping on cotton. She could collapse at any moment. Yet, she still staggered into the bathroom. When Sienna saw herself in the mirror, her expression changed drastically. She couldnโt believe it. The old woman in the mirror was actually her.
Meanwhile, Gardner had just returned to the courtyard. He immediately noticed that his fellow peers were looking at him with a strange expression. They looked at him weirdly, as if he had done something that left them speechless. He felt completely baffled. But when he looked at them, they quickly averted their gaze.
Then, sudden screams erupted from his room. Those people once again looked at him with indescribable expressions. Gardner was a bit annoyed. He finally understood why they looked at him like that. They actually thought he had some kind of unspeakable relationship with Sienna.
Gardner cursed inwardly that there was no way he would be interested in a foolish woman with terrible facial fortune. His gaze turned cold as he swept over the onlookers. โYou all have nothing better to do?โ The others were quite afraid of their senior, so they immediately scattered. Though, as they left, they couldnโt help but murmur to themselves that their seniorโs taste was questionable.
Gardner returned to his room. Hearing that Sienna was still screaming, he impatiently said, โShut up.โ People were already misunderstanding him. If this continued, rumors would spread.
Sienna, upon hearing his voice, forced herself to walk out. With teary eyes, she looked at him. As she approached, she suddenly collapsed into his arms and hugged him tightly. She hugged him and sobbed, โGardner, what should I do? You have to help me!โ
Gardner was already shocked by how old and ugly Sienna had become. Then, she hugged him and cried. However, it disgusted him. Without hesitation, he yanked her off him and ruthlessly pushed her to the ground. He said in disdain, โMen and women should keep their distance. Stop clinging to me.โ
Sienna fell hard onto the floor, completely stunned. After all, this trick had never failed before. She cursed him inwardly. This guy is no man at all!
Chapter 260
But since she still needed his help, she put on a pitiful expression. โGardner, you promised my brother that you would take care of me.โ She reached out and tugged at his pant leg. โIโm in this state now, you have to help me.โ
Gardner took two steps back. โI already spoke to my master. In a few days, Iโll take you to see him. He will help you when the time comes.โ Sienna had never known much about Gardnerโs master.
Gardner then warned her, โBut for the next few days, donโt go out and cause any more trouble. Otherwise, no one will be able to save you.โ His fellow peersโ misunderstanding had actually reminded him. From now on, he should keep his distance from Sienna. If she latched onto him, it would only bring disaster.
Sienna was secretly delighted. He still cares about me? He sure knows how to pretend. She obediently nodded. โAlright, I wonโt go out for the next few days.โ Looking this hideous, there was no way she would step outside.
