Chapter 391

Cyril immediately extended a hand to Phoebe. She had always been on good terms with him; he trusted her implicitly. Phoebe pressed down on Cyril’s wrist and checked it with her energy. First, she checked his body and found nothing unusual. She then checked his head, discovering a venomous parasite hiding its aura within the blood vessels of his brain. If she hadn't reached the Ascendance Realm, discovering it would have been far more difficult. This implied the parasite had been nurtured by someone at the Ascendance Realm.

She let go of Cyril’s wrist and asked with a serious expression, “Cyril, have you had any contact with people from Relands recently?”

Cyril thought carefully. “No, I haven’t had any contact with foreigners recently.”

Phoebe asked again, “Did you offend anyone recently?”

Cyril shook his head. “No. I’ve never used my power to bully others. I have many friends; I don’t think I have any enemies. I was just a playboy who liked to have fun. I’ve never been involved in gambling or drugs. I usually have fun with playboys like myself. There were only a few people in our circle, and we didn’t really hang out with outsiders.” He couldn’t think of anyone he had offended. Phoebe also knew that although Cyril was a bit of a playboy, his personality was quite good.

She asked, “Then in the past few days, do you remember anyone deliberately making physical contact with you?” Planting the venomous parasite required physical contact.

Cyril thought for a moment and said, “There is. A few days ago, I went to the racecourse to ride. Suddenly, a woman who was dressed very strangely and wrapped tightly bumped into me. I almost fell from the collision. In addition, I felt that her voice sounded a little familiar, so it left a deep impression on me.”

He asked nervously, “Pheebs, what’s wrong with me? Am I really possessed?”

Phoebe replied, “You’re not possessed. A venomous parasite is living in you.”

Cyril’s eyes widened. “What?” This sounded strange and terrifying.

He asked, “Did it come from the woman who bumped into me? But there shouldn’t be any enmity between us!”

Phoebe, remembering Cyril’s comment about the woman’s familiar voice, suspected Lydia. Although Lydia didn’t understand these things, Sienna was back, and likely involved.

She asked, “When did you go to the racecourse? Can you ask them to check the surveillance footage from that time?” Whether it was Lydia or not, checking the surveillance cameras would reveal the truth.

Cyril said, “I still remember the date. That horse farm is run by my friend’s brother. There’s no problem with checking the surveillance cameras.”

Phoebe said, “Then ask him to pull up the footage of you being hit. By the way, it’s best to check the surveillance in the parking lot around that time.”

Cyril nodded. “Okay!” He immediately called his friend and asked him to check the surveillance footage.

About ten minutes later, Cyril received the video. In the ward, there was a laptop Cyril used to play games when bored. Phoebe uploaded the video and opened it. She first watched the footage of Cyril being hit. Sure enough, a tightly wrapped woman emerged from a corner. When she saw Cyril, she immediately walked over and bumped into him. It was obvious she did it on purpose. An apology followed, then the woman left, looking panicked and guilty.

Phoebe said to Hughie and Angela, “Come and take a look. Do you find this woman familiar?” She rewound and replayed the video. Hughie and Angela had already seen it. Hearing Phoebe, they examined it more carefully.

After watching, Hughie said, “This person is covering herself too tightly. I can’t tell who she is. The back view does look a little familiar, but I really can’t figure out who it is.”

Angela also said, “Yes, it seems a little familiar, but I can’t recognize her.”

Phoebe knew that with Lydia’s disguise, even her parents wouldn't recognize her. She said, “I do recognize who she is.”

These words made the four Willis family members look at her intently. With curious, inquisitive expressions, they asked, “Who is it?”

Phoebe didn’t hesitate. “Lydia Jenkins, Cyril’s aunt.”

The four were stunned. Cyril reacted. “I was wondering why she sounded so familiar. So it’s Lydia. Why did she run into me?” He was dumbfounded. “It can’t be that she placed a venomous parasite on me, right?”

Because of Phoebe’s words, Hughie also felt the woman resembled Lydia. However, he couldn’t believe his sister would harm his son. He asked, “Pheebs, is it really her?”

Phoebe nodded. “Yes, I won’t be mistaken.” Then she opened the parking lot footage on her computer. After quickly browsing, she discovered a problem. She rewound to slow down and zoom in. “Look, this woman got out of this car. As for the person who didn’t get out of the driver’s seat, you should be able to recognize her.”

The others came over to look. “Isn’t this Sienna?”

Philip also noticed something. “Look at Sienna’s mouth. She’s calling this tightly wrapped woman ‘Mom.’” With that, the others realized it after looking carefully a few more times. Angela couldn’t believe it either. Although her relationship with Lydia was average, they weren’t involved in any conflicts. She asked, “Why did Lydia harm Cyril?” With a mother’s intuition, she knew the venomous parasite on Cyril’s body was definitely caused by Lydia. Otherwise, Lydia wouldn't have dressed like that and deliberately bumped into him; her sneaky departure confirmed her guilt. However, she couldn't understand Lydia's motive.

The answer came from Phoebe. She said, “I don’t think she’s doing this on purpose to harm Cyril. She only transferred the venomous parasite to Cyril for her own sake.” She was surprised by Lydia’s actions, but after considering it, she found it reasonable.
