Chapter 69

The ringtone stopped for a moment, then rang again. Leon finally answered. “What’s wrong?”

Sienna cried, feeling wronged. “Leon. I feel terrible. Jamar is bullying me. He not only didn’t believe me but also yelled at me, and now he just left me here.”

Leon listened to Sienna’s complaint. Normally, he would comfort her immediately and call Jamar to scold him. But this time, he pinched the bridge of his nose, his eyes filled with fatigue. “Why did he yell at you!”

“Because your relationship with Reece isn’t simple, right?” Leon’s voice was heavy. “Sienna, tell me the truth. Are you secretly seeing Reece?”

Sienna had expected Leon to comfort her and then call Jamar to reprimand him. Instead, he hit her with three questions in a row.

“I’m not. My relationship with Reece is innocent,” Sienna felt even more wronged. “We aren’t secretly together. Don’t you believe me either, Leon?”

Leon fell silent for a moment. “The evidence online makes it hard to believe that you two aren’t involved.”

Sienna shouted through her tears. “I really have nothing to do with him! If you don’t believe me, fine. You all are bullying me!” She angrily hung up the phone.

The grievances Sienna had experienced at the Jenkins family, previously feigned by Phoebe, were now real. Since entering the Jenkins family, where she had been pampered, Sienna had never truly felt this way. Because Leon and others doted on her, Sienna felt justified in throwing a little tantrum and hanging up the phone, expecting him to call back and soothe her.

Unfortunately, Leon was also upset. After the call ended, he angrily smashed his phone on the ground. Sienna waited for several minutes without receiving a call back from Leon. Frustrated, she nearly smashed her phone too.

Jamar hadn’t come in to check on her either. Crying, Sienna walked outside and spotted Reece standing a short distance away while Jamar returned to the car. After thinking for a moment, she approached Reece.

“Reece, I’m sorry Jamar only misunderstood because he was impulsive. I’ll clear this up with them.” As Sienna got closer, Reece stepped back a few paces, maintaining his distance before replying, “It’s fine. I didn’t take his words to heart.”

Reece’s actions hurt Sienna deeply. She felt like she might burst with frustration. ‘What does Reece think I am, a monster!’ she thought to herself.

“Reece, what should we do now?” Sienna asked. “I’ll support you in whatever way you need to clarify things.”

Sienna knew Reece wasn’t like her brothers who doted on her, so she swallowed her feelings and tried to show generosity and thoughtfulness. Of course, she didn’t want to be labeled as the mistress who interfered in Phoebe’s relationship. If that happened, the backlash would be brutal. “How could I navigate the entertainment industry and become a top star if I am branded like that!” Sienna wondered. “This problem needs Reece to handle it.”

Thinking of this made Reece’s headache worsen. “I don’t know either.”

At that moment, Erika’s car pulled up. Seeing this, Reece said to Sienna, “I have to go now. If there’s anything I can help clarify, I’ll reach out to you.” He then turned and walked toward the car without looking back, leaving Sienna with red, puffy eyes and tears streaming down her face.

Neither of them noticed a girl nearby taking pictures with her phone. She captured not only photos of them standing together but also Sienna’s tear-streaked face.

Sienna watched the car drive away. She realized Reece was completely unromantic, which infuriated her, leaving her feeling helpless. She could only return to the car they had originally sat in. Sienna opened the door and sat in the back seat, ignoring Jamar and leaning against the window, quietly crying, waiting for Jamar to come around and comfort her.

Noticing they had returned and Reece took another car, the driver started the engine and followed the others.

The director, having learned about the restaurant incident from the staff who had dined with the trio, couldn’t help but complain. “Serves them right! What were you doing earlier!”

Meanwhile, a social media influencer who often made joke videos tweeted about witnessing the program team. He mentioned seeing Reece and Sienna seemingly arguing. 2:43 PM G ·

Sienna’s eyes were swollen from crying, and Reece looked angry as he left alone. He even posted the photos he had taken. In the photos, Reece looked visibly upset while Sienna appeared to be crying, saying something through her tears. The two eventually parted ways. DI3 sour note.

Speculation erupted, with everyone guessing if their fallout was due to their rumored affair being exposed. From the looks of things, their tense exchange bore an uncanny resemblance to a typical lovers’ quarrel. More people joined in criticizing the pair, worsening their already unfavorable situation. Linda saw these developments and was nearly infuriated. She was still figuring out how to manage the previous crisis, and now this new mess appeared. Why couldn’t Sienna just stay out of trouble? Linda wondered.

Meanwhile, Phoebe and her men were browsing the latest updates. Maddox spoke up. “No matter how they try to spin it, we can’t clear their names.”

Phoebe smiled, “Right, their names are already tarnished. This is just the beginning.”

As the two teams, Linda’s and Leon’s, deliberated for hours without coming up with a clear plan, Linda contacted Reece again. “You understand what’s happening now, right? What should we do?”

Reece replied, “The couple’s pendant wasn’t given to Sienna by me.”

Linda questioned and emphasized. “Then how does she have one? That’s a limited edition not sold separately. There are only two in the world.”

Reece replied honestly, “Someone else gave it to her.”

Linda asked again, “What about yours? Was it given by the same person!”

Reece said, “Yes.”

Linda continued, “Who was it?”

After a pause, Reece answered, “An elder.”

Linda thought for a moment and suggested, “Could we get this elder to help clarify things?”

Reece was silent for a moment. “That probably wouldn’t be possible.”

Linda was confused. “Why not? If we could ask this elder to clarify, it could help clear things up for you.”

Reece took a deep breath. “Her identity isn’t suitable for this. And besides, the internet wouldn’t believe it. If it were just a photo, we might manage to explain, but now with the couple’s pendant… you all don’t believe it either, do you?”

Linda asked, “What should we do then! If this continues to escalate, it will greatly impact your reputation.”

Reece looked exhausted. “I’ll post a Twitter update. Believe it or not, it’s all the same.”

This kind of undeniable evidence couldn’t be erased.

“There’s nothing between Sienna and me beyond friendship. If anyone has the ability, they can find proof of our inappropriate relationship. I’m not afraid,” said Reece.

Linda felt speechless as she wondered, ‘Is Reece implying he is ready to give up?’

Linda suggested, “Why not ask that elder again?”

Reece immediately rejected the idea. “Let’s not think about that. It’s impossible. Let’s just leave it as it is.”

After saying this, Reece hung up the phone and posted another tweet: Reece: clarify again. My girlfriend is only Phoebe, and I have no inappropriate relationship with Sienna. Her pendant was not a gift from me.

Reece then leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes. Erika, sitting in the passenger seat, caught sight of Reece in the rearview mirror and secretly rolled her eyes. Inside, she cursed silently, thinking, “How he looks all put together but is actually a cheating scumbag! He deserves it!”
