Leon accepted the request. He hadn't even spoken when Phoebe's message came through.

Phoebe: [Didn't you say you'd give me the best contract in the industry?]

Leon: (Of course! You already looked at the contract I sent to your email! Weren't you dismissive before? Now you want it?)

Phoebe: [Not really, just wanted to confirm something.]

Leon: What exactly?

He felt a little puzzled. Could she be trying to confirm if any of us still have feelings for her? Maybe she still craves their family connection, he wondered.

Phoebe: [Just to check if anything true ever comes out of you. Now I'm certain, not a chance!]

Leon didn't expect that. His face darkened immediately.

Leon: [Getting pretty bold, aren't you? Decided you don't want that contract anymore!]

Phoebe sent three emojis in rapid succession to show her disdain.

Phoebe: [As if I care about your so-called best contract in the industry. Take a look at what someone else offered me.]

She sent him the contract. Leon opened it and, after reading, his expression turned even darker. Not only was he shocked, but furious.

Since when is Remy this generous? Is he planning to openly defy us? This looks like a direct attempt to embolden Phoebe and encourage her to stand against us, he wondered.

Leon: You’re going to Star Entertainment? That’s our family’s biggest rival. Remy is as cunning as they come. If he’s giving you this kind of contract, he has ulterior motives.

Phoebe: [You are so funny.]

Leon, sensing this probably wasn’t a compliment, couldn’t help but ask: [What’s that supposed to mean!]

Phoebe: (You’d see the definition of cunning and deceit staring back at you if you faced your mirror. No self-awareness at all! Disappointing!)

Leon fumed as he read it. [Phoebe, are you really choosing outsiders over me?]

Phoebe: See! No self-awareness. Obviously, you’re the outsiders, so what you’re saying doesn’t even apply.

Leon’s expression grew darker. (So, you re-added me just to pick a fight?)

Phoebe: [No, I came to embarrass you. You went on about giving me the best contract in the industry, better than any other entertainment company could offer. How did you say that with a straight face and not cringe?]

He switched to voice messages. (Phoebe, don’t test my patience.)

Leon was so angry.

Phoebe replied: [Who would waste their time testing your patience! I just wanted to help you see yourself clearly. Save yourself from making a fool of yourself. If I were you, I’d find a rock to knock myself out, humiliation all the way to the ocean.]

Phoebe: [Imagine if I broadcasted your words across the industry. Think people might laugh their heads off? You’d become the biggest joke in town! Hey, now that I think about it, that’s a pretty good idea.]

And with that, she removed him from her contacts. Leon’s anger spiked as he hurriedly sent another voice message: [Don’t you dare!] To his shock, he received an alert. They were no longer contacts.

Leon froze in disbelief and wondered, “Damn, she’s ruthless, like a dog with a bone.”

At that moment, Leon was both furious and panicked. The last thing Leon wanted was for Phoebe to reveal the contract. After all, their goal was to make her submit, not be humiliated.

It was undeniable. Phoebe had him completely under her thumb. Every time, Leon felt his anger incredibly frustrating.

He picked up a cup from the table and smashed it on the floor in a fit of rage. “Damn it!”

Ollie jumped at the sudden outburst. “What’s wrong?” It was the first time he had ever seen his brother so furious and out of control.

Leon handed his phone to Ollie. “You can see for yourself.”

Ollie took the phone and, after reading the messages, his expression grew complex. It was no wonder Leon was so angry. Phoebe’s words were infuriating. “Is she really going to do that?” he asked.

Leon frowned. “She shouldn’t go that far. If she dares to humiliate us like that, how does she expect to come home smoothly in the future?”

Ollie thought for a moment. “You’re right. She’s probably just trying to get under your skin.”

At that moment, Leon’s phone rang. It was his assistant. “What’s going on?” he answered.

A hurried voice came through: “Leon, Phoebe just tweeted something that turns public opinion against you. What should we do!”

Leon’s eyes widened in disbelief. “She really dared?” After hanging up, he opened Twitter to check. Sure enough, Phoebe had posted an update.

Phoebe: [I’ve cut ties with everyone in the Jenkins family and hope to be left alone. Leon, you wanted to silence me with a contract while pretending there’s deep sibling affection. Where were you before? Do you think I’m a fool?]

[That little bit of family sentiment is for you to enjoy. I don’t need your pity. I won’t agree to a so-called ‘clarification’ on Twitter that goes against the truth and my conscience. I don’t care for your so-called best industry contract. Don’t bother me again!]

After reading, Leon’s expression changed dramatically. He felt a sharp pain in his chest from the anger. “She really dared! She really did: Darn it! She’s screwing me over again! What the hell is this really my sister? She’s acting like an enemy.”

Not only did she embarrass him, but she also dismissed a contract that should have been a big deal for the company. This move hurt Leon, Reece, and Sienna.

Forcing her to issue a false and dishonest so-called clarification on Twitter? I haven’t even had a chance to say it to her, he wondered. “How could she just lie like that?”

Although he had planned to make her tweet a clarification after the contract was signed, he hadn’t even mentioned it to her yet.

Leon could imagine the chaos that would ensue as people speculated and criticized them again, especially after he had just spent money to remove those trending topics.

Seeing Leon lose his composure again, Ollie reached for the phone. After reading the tweet, Ollie’s expression also changed. “She actually went ahead and did it. Is she not worried that we won’t accept her again because of this?”

Leon couldn’t hold back his foul language. “What does she have to be afraid of? She’s just trying to provoke us, trying to embarrass me?”

Leon couldn’t understand. “What benefit does it give her to humiliate me, her brother? She really has no idea what she’s doing.” He was on the verge of exploding with anger.

Ollie’s brow furrowed deeper. “We need to think of a way to manage this.”

Leon took a deep breath, trying to suppress his rage, and think rationally about a solution. This contract really is the best in the industry. I’ll have the PR team handle it from that angle.

“If it was just to silence her, there was no need for such a contract. I’ll have the PR department frame it as me caring for her. She just doesn’t recognize goodwill and bit the hand that feeds her.”

Ollie sighed. “That’s the only way we can go.”

Ollie was increasingly confused about Phoebe. Leon wasted no time and posted his own tweet.

He explained that he only wanted to compensate Phoebe, which was why he used the best contract for her, and he meant no harm, asking her not to misunderstand. He even uploaded a photo of the contract, making it clear he was acting out of goodwill, but he blurred any sensitive company information. Moments later, Leon’s phone rang again. It was his assistant.

Leon picked it up. “What now?”

The assistant said, “Maddox just tweeted something to fan the flames.”

Leon froze in disbelief. Maddox had previously targeted Sienna and bullied Jamar on Phoebe’s behalf. Now he was stepping in to confront them.
