Chapter 265: The Meeting That Went to Hell

Jensen still felt uncomfortable. As he sat down, his hand on the armrest first, his eyes darted quickly to Jacksonโ€™s face, then instinctively to Wyatt. Wyatt sat hunched over, elbows on his knees, leaning forward with a mocking smile as he stared at Jensen. Jensen looked away immediately. Wyatt leaned back lazily, his posture even more relaxed.

โ€œPathetic,โ€ he said. Jacksonโ€™s eyebrows furrowed even more. The leaders of the Powell and Cooper sides were engaged in a full-blown verbal war, clashing over a minor point of profit. They were shouting, their faces flushed, almost to the point of exchanging slaps. Neither Jackson nor Wyatt intervened until things had calmed down.

Eager to assert himself, Jensen was the first to speak. โ€œAll this fuss over some petty winnings? Wyatt, I didnโ€™t hear anything about your company being on the verge of bankruptcy. When did you become so petty?โ€

Wyatt didnโ€™t answer. Feeling bolder, Jensen continued. โ€œHereโ€™s what I propose. We use a dynamic profit-sharing model that adjusts distributions based on actual contributions at each stage. That way, both sides get the most benefit.โ€

Still no response. Jensen tried again, feigning fairness. โ€œLet the Powell Group do the early-stage R&D and market expansion. The Cooper side can provide capital reserves. After all, Wyatt, you never went to school. You wouldnโ€™t understand the technical side of things. So let me, your older brother, reluctantly handle the core segments.โ€

Taylor looked at Wyatt. I hope the Powell family will get the upper hand, but I also know Wyatt isnโ€™t stupid. Sure enough, Wyatt let out a carefree laugh, then looked at Jensen with mocking eyes.

As soon as the words had landed, Jensen jerked back in his chair. His expression changed instantly. A cold sweat broke out on his forehead. He gripped the armrest of the chair so tightly that the veins on the back of his hand bulged. Wyatt narrowed his eyes. What now? Everyone stared at Jensenโ€™s strange posture and pale face. Jacksonโ€™s eyes widened as if he sensed something.

โ€œTaylor! Your father-in-law doesnโ€™t look well; help him out of here!โ€

If Jackson noticed, how could Taylor not? But she just sat there with an annoyed look on her face, unwilling to move. Then a loud gurgle came from Jensenโ€™s stomach. He tensed, then a series of unmistakable, highly embarrassing sounds echoed through the hall. Clank. Jacksonโ€™s cane fell to the floor. His face froze in disbelief. He opened his mouth to scream, but the image in his mind was faster than his words. He imagined what would happen if Jensen got up, so he forced himself to hold back.

Jensen didnโ€™t dare move a muscle. Drenched in sweat, he silently prayed that everyone in the room would just disappear. Suddenly, one of Wyattโ€™s executives slapped him on the leg and burst out laughing. โ€œYour boss just crapped his pants! Hahaha!โ€

โ€œQuestion for the finance team, should we add a new line item for diapers to Powellโ€™s budget?โ€

โ€œHonestly, it might be necessary. If he canโ€™t do it in a meeting, what if he does it in the office? That would be very unprofessional.โ€

The Cooper Group had a bad reputation, and its employees were notorious for roasting people mercilessly. It wasnโ€™t just Jackson and Jensen who couldnโ€™t take it. Taylor couldnโ€™t sit still either. She stood up with a cold face and left the room to get some air. Yunice, watching through the surveillance feed, had seen the show she wanted, so she cut the video.

Oh, the medicine might treat his illness, but it was also full of fire-purging herbs. Of course, heโ€™d end up with diarrhea. And when Wyatt scared him earlier, it triggered his fear. There was no way his body could take it. The Powell family had made a big mistake. They picked the wrong person to attack, especially one who was a medical expert.

Not long after, Taylor came looking for Yunice. โ€œIโ€™ll drive you home.โ€ Yunice pretended not to know. โ€œHas the patient recovered?โ€

Recovered? Taylor wanted to scream. Iโ€™d never been so humiliated. But I couldnโ€™t blame Yunice. โ€œYou warned him to stay in bed and rest. He insisted on showing off. He brought it on himself.โ€

Worried that Jackson might turn his anger on Yunice later, Taylor decided to get her out early. Seeing how much Taylor was trying to protect her, Yunice felt a twinge of guilt. But there was no choice. The Powell family had to pay.

Inside the conference room, Jackson exploded. โ€œGet out! All of you!โ€ Executives from both the Powell and Cooper camps were thrown out like garbage. Jensen stayed in his chair, shaking all over as if he could see his end coming.
