Chapter 553 Everyoneโ€™s Lying

โ€œWyattโ€ฆโ€

Yuniceโ€™s soft voice instantly drew Wyattโ€™s attention.

With the pressure off her, Elianna finally exhaled a shaky breath of relief.

Yunice furrowed her brows, attempting to sit up, but Wyatt quickly said in a low voice, โ€œDonโ€™t move.โ€

Car accidents often caused internal injuries. Even though heโ€™d checked her already and only saw some bruising on her neck, he wasnโ€™t about to let his guard down.

Yunice stayed obediently nestled in his arms. โ€œDonโ€™t blame Eliannaโ€ฆ she didnโ€™t hang up on purposeโ€”her phone just died.โ€

Elianna: โ€œโ€ฆโ€

She felt like sheโ€™d just swallowed a cactus. She wanted to defend herself but didnโ€™t dare say a word.

Yunice continued softly, โ€œI should be thanking her, actually. If she hadnโ€™t called you, you wouldnโ€™t have arrived so quickly. I didnโ€™t expect her to help me like thatโ€ฆโ€

Wyattโ€™s expression softened. His eyes held a glint of guilt, clearly feeling bad for having snapped at Elianna earlier.

Elianna: โ€œ..โ€

Now she truly understood what it meant to manipulate men like they were puppies. Yunice, you two-faced little witch!

At the hospital, Yunice was sent in for a full check-up.

Standing at the door, Wyatt glanced at the disheveled Elianna and said, โ€œYou should go in too.โ€

Elianna frowned and stepped back. โ€œNo way.โ€

She had no interest in being stuck in a room with Yunice.

Wyatt noticed her tightly knit brows and how she kept rubbing her hands nervously behind her back.

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? Youโ€™ve been acting weird all day. Just say whatโ€™s on your mind.โ€

Eliannaโ€™s heart skipped. Without thinking, she blurted, โ€œWyatt, Yuniceโ€ฆ sheโ€™s lying to you!โ€

If she didnโ€™t say it now, sheโ€™d never get another chance.

โ€œLying?โ€ Wyatt, phone in hand, paused mid-message. โ€œWhat is she lying about?โ€

โ€œShe met withโ€“โ€œ

Just then, Wyattโ€™s phone rang.

Eliannaโ€™s words cut off mid-sentence as both of them looked at the phone.

Wyatt, visibly irritated, held it up and said. โ€œWhatever it is, weโ€™ll talk later.โ€

He walked off while answering the call.

Elianna stared after him, heart sinking. He hadnโ€™t taken her seriously at all. Even if she told him the truth, heโ€™d never believe her over Yunice.

Disappointment hit hard. Has he really forgotten about me ever since he got a wife?

But then a thought stopped her cold.

Wait. If he cares about Yunice so much, why did he leave before her results came out?

What kind of call canโ€™t be answered right outside the exam room?

Her instincts kicking in, she quietly followed him.

Wyatt walked down the corridor, alone.

โ€œShe doing okay?โ€

โ€œMr. Wyatt, Ms. Nora has shown repeated response to the rhino-hom compound. She could wake up any minute. If youโ€™re not there when she does, you may miss it.โ€

โ€œIf she wakes up and doesnโ€™t see you, it could cause her emotional distress.โ€

Ms. Nora?

Noraโ€ฆ is waking up?

Eliannaโ€™s breath caught in her throat. But realizing sheโ€™d just made a sound, she quickly turned and rushed back to the waiting area.

A few minutes passed. Wyatt didnโ€™t return.

Her heart was pounding.

What is going on?

He was protecting Yunice on one hand, and saving Nora on the other.

Who does he really love? Or is he trying to have it both waysโ€“one as his ideal, one as a substitute?

Elianna had once thought Yunice had Wyatt completely under her thumb. But nowโ€ฆ Yunice was just a piece on the board too.

Frowning, Elianna realized she didnโ€™t understand the game at all. She didnโ€™t dare take sides anymore.

โ€œWhatever. Let them lie to each other all they want. Iโ€™ll just live easy. No matter who the wife is, Iโ€™m still Wyattโ€™s little sister.โ€

When Yunice came out of the exam room, she saw Elianna swinging her legs on a bench, looking idle and carefree.

Odd.

After being humiliated by Yunice earlier, Elianna shouldโ€™ve been stomping in anger in front of Wyatt.

Yunice asked, โ€œWhereโ€™s Wyatt?โ€

Elianna looked up lazily, just about to reply when a familiar voice came from behind Yunice.

โ€œIโ€™m here,โ€

Yunice turned. Wyatt stood there holding a takeout bag. โ€œI went to get us something to eat. Are you hungry?โ€

From her seat in the back, Eliannaโ€™s expression shifted. She recognized that bagโ€”it came from a place at least ten minutes away.

But she had just overheard Wyattโ€™s phone call barely moments ago. There was no way he had gone out himself.

So someone else bought it for him. He was just covering up his absence.

Elianna stared at the couple, her mind in knots. Theyโ€™re both so two-faced. Is this what a complicated marriage looks like?

She knew everythingโ€ฆ but chose to stay quiet.

Wyatt looked down at his phone. โ€œThe doctor already sent me your scans. Youโ€™re luckyโ€”no internal injuries.โ€

He looked up, gaze drifting to Yuniceโ€™s neck. Her skin was pale and slender, so even the faintest bruises stood out starkly.
