Chapter 670: Slap for Slap
Yunice sneered in defiance. โHow soon is โsooner or laterโ? Will you even be alive to see it?โ
โYou!โ The old woman clenched her fists, her voice dripping with venom. โAre you cursing me to die?โ
โShane! Slap her mouth!โ
Clearly, the old hag was used to being the tyrant at homeโanyone who disobeyed her got slapped.
โYes, Mother.โ Shane rolled up his sleeves and stepped toward Yunice.
He had a routine for hitting peopleโgrab the collar first, make sure the target couldnโt dodge. Then raise the other hand high, ready to strike with full force.
One slap like that could damn near deafen someone.
Yunice was tall but slender, without much weight. Shane easily seized her collar and raised his hand high.
Smack! A sharp, ringing slap!
Madam Mary sipped her tea with satisfaction as the sound echoed. But something was offโshe hadnโt heard the girl cry out in pain.
Did Shane knock her out cold with one hit?
Madam Mary looked upโand nearly leapt out of her wheelchair.
โShโShane, youโre bleeding from the noseโฆ Whatโs that on your face?!โ
Then it hit her. Furious, she shouted, โYou little brat! You hit my child?!โ
Shane was stunned too, trying to piece together what just happened.
When heโd grabbed Yuniceโs collar, she hadnโt resisted at all. Sheโd looked like a scared little chick, totally frozen.
So heโd let his guard down. Thatโs when Yunice, taking advantage of the close distance, slapped him square across the face, cutting off his strike mid-swing.
That slap pissed him off. As he reeled back, he swung again.
But Yunice was fasterโshe hit his other cheek before his hand even came down.
Her hands were small, but her strikes were fast and fierce, sharp like a babyโs surprise jabโimpossible to defend against.
And she didnโt aim for humiliationโshe went for the kill, slapping straight across his ear.
The force of the strike rattled his eardrum, sending pain straight to the bone.
His raised arm faltered. He bent over, clutching his ear in agony.
Then Yunice kicked him below the beltโevery move ruthless and final, with zero thought for the aftermath.
Shane collapsed to the ground, face twisted in pain, completely incapable of fighting back.
The old hag shrieked like a banshee. โYou little devil! Youโve gone rabid! Youโre nothing but a wild bitch!โ
Yunice shot back, โWhat, you canโt stand the sight of me? Then get up and do something about it.
Oh wait, you canโt get up, can you? A cursed old hag like you doesnโt deserve a healthy body.
And donโt you dare โyou, you, youโ me. Letโs get one thing straightโyouโre not my mother-in-law. Donโt think you can play the elder card just because of Wyatt.
To me, youโre just a decrepit hag. If I donโt like you, Iโll slap you, and what the hell are you gonna do about it?โ
โYou wouldnโt dare!โ Madam Maryโs voice cracked from rage.
But before she even finished the sentence, Yunice was already in front of her.
She lightly patted Madam Maryโs cheekโthen, while the old woman was still stunned, delivered a solid slap across her face.
โSo what if I did?โ Yunice said coolly.
Madam Mary stared, wide-eyed. More than pain, she was overwhelmed by shock.
โThis your first slap in life?โ Yunice said. โYou should be honored. I donโt hit just anyone.โ
She didnโt see Madam Mary as a threat. Just another old bag, no matter how vicious.
Everyone assumed Yunice was fragile, some delicate wife whose wrist could snap in one grab.
But no one rememberedโshe came out of a mental asylum. Her reflexes were forged in real combat.
Do lunatics hold back in a fight?
Every swing was meant to kill. Without that kind of ferocity, she wouldnโt have made it out alive.
These self-important fools never stopped to think.
Yunice casually strolled in a circle around Madam Maryโs wheelchair. โWhy are you looking for Nora?
Havenโt you always hated her?
You play the doting elder in public, but werenโt all her bruises your doing?
Youโre just some bitter old relic stuck in the dark agesโa sexist, tyrannical witch of a mother-in-law.
And since youโre here asking me where Nora is, that means you know she came to the med school to find me. Odds are, you forced her to come.
Youโre dying to see her fall, so you can use her name to emotionally blackmail me and Wyatt.
You donโt give a damn where she is. You just want to use her to cover for your murderous golden boy.โ
Yunice cast a scornful glance at the old woman. โI donโt go looking for trouble, and I donโt care about the twisted drama between you Johnsons and Wyatt.
But if youโre dumb enough to drag it to my face, then you can kiss that face goodbye.โ
