Adamโs car swerved, trying to force Celine back. However, Celine held her ground. Sparks flew as her car scraped the wall, before she drifted sharply around the corner to catch up. Her skills were impressive.
Adam glanced at her. The wind tousled her long, dark hair, brushing against her fair face and slender neck. For a moment, he was speechless. Celine looked at him from behind her sunglasses and casually gave him the middle finger.
Adam chuckled. She was getting under his skin. Heโd always considered Celine a simple country girlโa troublemaker who followed him around. But her quick thinking in arguments, decisiveness in games, and unexpected racing skill left him impressed and frustrated. He wondered which version of her was real. She was a mystery he wanted to solve. He wouldn't back down, and neither would she. When he spotted an obstacle, Celine immediately steered to cut him off. Adam slammed the gas, using the downhill momentum to slide alongside her.
Celine looked at him and shrugged, as if saying, โNice try.โ She smirked, amused. Adam was a worthy opponent. The speed and competition were exhilarating.
The two race cars sped side by side, creating an eye-catching sight. Nathan shouted excitedly, โCeline, I didnโt know you were this good! Adamโs probably stunned. Heโs never had a real competitor until you showed up.โ Celine smiled faintly.
Nathan continued, โCeline, the finish line is ahead, and we havenโt decided the winner. It looks like you wonโt be getting the Celestial Suite.โ
Celine glanced at the finish line. โDonโt worry. Someoneโs going to help me.โ
Carly watched in disbelief. She couldnโt believe Celine's skill; it frustrated her. She couldn't understand how the seemingly simple country girl could race so well. Carly looked at Adam, noticing his complete focus on Celine. Racing had always been his hobby, and everyone admired him. Already uncomfortable in the car due to her congenital heart disease, Carly's jealousy and hatred tightened her chest. She pressed her hand to her heart and gasped in pain. โAdam!โ
It was the final stretch. Adam was about to give Celine another challenge when he heard Carly cry out. He quickly turned to see Carlyโs pale face. Without hesitation, he slowed down. Celine surged ahead with a loud roar, crossing the finish line first. She won.
Adam parked, helping Carly out of the car. She felt better, but her face remained pale. As Celine and Nathan exited their car, resort staff handed Celine the key to the Celestial Suite.
