It was Celine. He had mistaken someone else for her. The thought of the coldness and humiliation he had shown her made him want to slap himself. That day in the infirmary, he had pinned her to the bed while she cried and told him she hated him. She had looked heartbroken. Adam felt despicable. Every muscle in his body tensed. His handsome face was dark and brooding, but soon, his thin lips curled into a smile.

After returning to the apartment, Robin slept well. The next day, Celine and Hailey took her out shopping. The three of them strolled into the mall and entered an accessory store. Celine’s eyes landed on a bunch of girly, candy-colored hair clips: pink strawberries, green watermelons, and yellow lemons. Each one was bright and cheerful.

“Celine, these clips suit you so well. You should get the yellow one,” Hailey suggested.

“I think the pink one looks good too,” Robin added.

Celine was about to choose when a familiar voice rang out. “Celine, what a coincidence! You’re out shopping too?”

Celine looked up and saw Nikki (presumably a misspelling of Nikki throughout). Nikki had brought her assistant.

Hailey frowned. “Why do we keep running into her? She’s like a stalker.”

As a celebrity, Nikki was impeccably dressed, even for a casual outing. Her assistant struggled with several luxury-brand shopping bags, trailing behind her like a pack mule. Nikki took off her sunglasses, walked up to Celine, and said, “Celine, I have some good news for you.”

“Wow! Did you win an award for Best Actress?” Robin exclaimed.

Nikki’s face darkened. “You…” But she quickly composed herself. She pressed a hand to her chest, bent over, and gagged as if she were about to throw up.

Hailey frowned. “Nikki, what are you trying to pull this time?”

Nikki stopped gagging and looked at Celine. “Celine, I haven’t been feeling well lately. I’m always tired and nauseous. You studied medicine, right? Can you check my pulse and tell me what’s wrong?”

Robin was about to speak, but Celine stopped her. “Fine, I’ll check for you.”

Celine placed her hand on Nikki’s wrist. Her touch stilled, and she looked up at Nikki. Excitement flickered in Nikki’s eyes. “Celine, what’s wrong with me?”

Celine withdrew her hand, her gaze calm and expression unreadable. “You’re pregnant.”

“What?” Hailey and Robin practically jumped. Both were stunned. “Nikki, you’re pregnant? Whose baby is it?”

Nikki looked at Celine and smiled. “Celine, that night when Mr. Alvarez and I were together, he didn’t use any protection. I’m pregnant with his child.” Nikki was pregnant with Adam’s child.

When Nikki had bent over and gagged, Celine had already suspected pregnancy, but hearing it confirmed made her delicate fingers curl involuntarily. Hailey and Robin exchanged shocked glances, disbelief etched on their faces.

Just then, a deep, magnetic voice rang out. “What are you all doing?”

Celine looked up and saw Adam’s tall, imposing figure. Nikki’s eyes sparkled with excitement. She quickly moved to his side. “Mr. Alvarez, I have something you’ll want to hear.”
