"That's it for today's birthday party," Nikki announced, turning to leave. She wanted to escape, but Liam grabbed her arm. "Nikki, where are you going?"

"Nikki, how long will you hide your pregnancy from me?"

Liam produced a document. "This is your pregnancy report from the hospital, Nikki. Are you still going to deny it?"

Nikki had visited the hospital a few days earlier and was shocked to find Liam already possessed her report. She snatched it back. "How did you get this?"

"Someone gave it to me."

She desperately wanted to know who.

"Nikki, why didn't you tell me you were pregnant with my child? What were you planning to do?"

A surge of emotion overcame her. "Shut up! The child I'm carrying is not yours!"

The child was Adam's. He was upstairs, and the situation was worsening.

"Nikki, it's been a month since you became pregnant. Remember that night a month ago when I gave you money? We checked into a hotel. You were enthusiastic, saying I deserved a reward. We didn't use protection, and that's when you conceived."
