Celine looked at Adam. He gave her a cold look before shifting his gaze to Carly and saying gently, "Let's go." He had just agreed with Carly in front of Celine.

Carly curved her lips into a sweet, triumphant smile. She knew Celine was likely filled with envy and hatred. Carly imagined Celine struggling internally. How could a country bumpkin ever try to challenge me? she thought. What a joke!

"Alright," Carly said, looping her arm through Adam's and turning to leave.

But then, a clear, elegant voice called out, "Adam."

Celine was calling him. Adam stopped and turned.

Carly smiled smugly and said provocatively, "Celine, you're already divorced. Are you still hung up on Adam and trying to win him back?"

Celine stood straight in the corridor, her slender figure poised and unyielding. Ignoring Carly, her clear eyes rested on Adam's dignified, handsome face.

She said, "Adam, I loved you."

He stared as she continued, her voice clear and captivating, "I never thought loving someone with all my heart was something to be ashamed of." She paused. "But that love doesn't give anyone the right to humiliate me. I once loved you sincerely, but now, I don't love you anymore."

Adam's tall, upright figure stiffened.

Celine took a few steps toward them. "What are we now? We're divorced. Strictly speaking, we're exes. A proper ex should act as if they don't know each other, even if they meet on the street. They should be dead to each other. So, please, keep your current girlfriend in check. Don't bring her around to haunt me. I'm your ex-wife, not your mother. Whether you two get married or have as many children as you want is none of my business. I'm not interested in hearing about it."

Carly's face paled. She had come to show off, to see Celine hurt and broken, but it wasn't happening. Celine's calm demeanor had completely turned the tables.

Carly seethed with rage. "Celine, you!"

Celine stepped in front of them, slowly curling her lips into a faint smile. Her cold gaze landed on Carly. "And what exactly do you have to show off in front of me? The title of 'Mrs. Alvarez' is something I got bored with, and Adam is a man I've already slept with. Honestly, it's the first time I've seen someone so smug about picking up my leftovers."

Carly was speechless. Her chest ached with anger. How could Celine be so sharp-tongued?

With her message delivered, Celine turned and left.

Before she went far, Benjamin appeared. He strode over, saying, "Celine, Adam already divorced you. Why are you still talking to him? How can you be so shameless—"

"And you, Benjamin Goodwind!" Celine cut him off. "You'd better lower your voice when speaking to me. Otherwise, I'll tell everyone how you dropped from a pro to a beginner after losing to me in the game and turn you into a laughingstock!"

He froze, reacting as if his tail had been stepped on. He jumped in fury, shouting, "Celine, you venomous woman!"

She gave him a once-over. "Oh, there's worse. If you provoke me again, I'll drop you from beginner to nothing!"

Benjamin nearly choked with frustration.

Without another glance, Celine walked away confidently.

Benjamin was on the verge of exploding. He boomed, "Adam, look at her!"
