Sensing Adam's gaze, Celine turned to look at him. Adam was caught off guard.
"What are you looking at? Never seen a beauty before?" Celine glared.
After a brief pause, Adam said, "Why don't you read some books and improve yourself? No matter how beautiful you are, you're nothing but a brainless beauty."
"Brainless beauty?" Celine narrowed her eyes. "Just wait, Adam Alvarez. Someday, you'll regret what you said!"
Ignoring him, Celine went to bed.
Suddenly, Adam's phone buzzed. Samuel had created a group chat and added him. Besides Adam, the group included Miss Genius C, who had rejected his friend request a few days earlier. Her profile picture was a "C" on a black background.
Samuel welcomed them: "Let's welcome the two geniuses from Haffard University! Our university is launching a digital game soon, and we'd like you two to test its speed before the launch."
Adam and Miss Genius C both sent "OK." Samuel shared the game app. Both Adam and Miss Genius C clicked on it, and the game began.
It took Adam 104 seconds to clear the stages. Glancing at Miss Genius C's profile picture, he wondered how long it would take her. Samuel had told him about this young woman who constantly challenged his records, claiming to be his equal. Initially, Adam had been skeptical. When she rejected his friend request, he'd let it go. He never imagined they'd end up in the same group chat, thanks to Samuel.
Suddenly, Samuel sent a screenshot with the caption: "It only took 104 seconds for our two geniuses to complete the game! This is astonishing!"
Adam's eyes flickered. He found it hard to believe she matched his time. No one had ever matched his speed, but Miss Genius C had.
Adam smirked, tapped his keyboard twice, and sent a message.
Meanwhile, Celine sat on the bed with her phone. She noticed Adam had also completed the game in 104 seconds. Suddenly, Adam tagged her in the group.
"Why didn't you add me?" he messaged.
Celine glanced at Adam, who was sitting on the couch, focused on his phone, waiting for Miss "Brainless Beauty." She swiftly replied, "You're really annoying."
Adam read the message twice and smirked. He wondered how he'd annoyed her, and more importantly, how Miss Genius C had matched his score. He didn't even glance at Celine.
