"Larry Slick was imprisoned ten years ago for child molestation, abuse, and attempted rape," Leo reported.

Adam's fountain pen stopped abruptly. He looked up at Leo, shocked. "It was Celine?"

Leo nodded. "Yes, Mr. Alvarez. Mrs. Aloner's adoptive father is a perverted scumbag and bastard."

Adam's handsome face hardened. He'd suspected a troubled past between Celine and Larry, but not this.

Suddenly, Adam's phone rang. He answered, and Robin's panicked voice filled his ear. "Help, Mr. Alvarez! Celine's in trouble!"

Adam gripped the phone. "What happened?"

"Celine went to the pub to give her bastard adoptive father a check. I followed her, but when I got to the room, she was gone! Her bastard adoptive father took her!"

Adam rushed from his study, throwing open the bedroom door. The room was empty. She'd been there moments ago, gone to meet Larry alone.

"Why is she meeting Larry with a check?"

"Larry has Celine's photo."

What photo? Could it be the one Larry sent today?

Adam saw a box on the bedside table. Inside, he found a photograph. He examined it closely, his fingers tightening as murderous rage consumed him. That scumbag! Why hadn't she told him? She could have.

Suddenly, the younger Celine in the picture seemed familiar. He'd seen her before! The girl who rescued him in the cave years ago looked just like her! But Carly was his rescuer. Could Celine, not Carly, be the one who saved him? Had he mistaken her identity all these years?

His mind raced. Severely injured, he hadn't seen her face clearly. By morning, she was gone.

Was Celine the girl who saved him?

"Mr. Alvarez? Mr. Alvarez!" Robin's anxious voice cut through his thoughts.

Adam snapped back to reality. "You have to send men to look for Celine, Mr. Alvarez! Her bastard adoptive father has taken her again! You have to find her!"

Finding Celine was paramount. If he found her, he could determine if she was the girl from the cave. If she was, he'd abandoned her to suffer at the bastard's hands—a guilt he could never bear. She must have been terrified. He'd promised to take her away, told her he wanted her.

Adam stared intently at Leo, his eyes bloodshot. "Get the surveillance footage! Find Larry's car, and close off all roads in Mercity! I want him completely trapped!"
