Chapter 96
Adam lowered his head and fiercely kissed Celine's ruby-red lips. The phone vibrated incessantly; Carly was still calling. Celine felt the thrill of infidelity. She and Adam were legally married, yet it felt like an affair behind Carly's back.
Adam's kiss was ferocious, almost punishing. He first gnawed on her soft, red lips, then swept in with the intensity of a roaring thunderstorm, stealing her breath. She was, to him, an enchanting seductress.
Larry's words echoed in her mind: Celine loved seducing men, so much so that a depraved man had targeted her at a young age.
Her slender hand snaked up his shirt. Adam panted, then pulled back. "Are you serious, Celine?" A delicious blush colored her face. "You don't like it?"
That night, in the Westwood Villa, he pinned her against the wall. Though neither mentioned it afterward, the night remained unforgettable.
Adam's voice was hoarse. "Why?"
Celine looked at him. "Thank you for rescuing me today. I want to repay your kindness. Afterward, we'll be even." She wanted to repay him in this way; she didn't want to owe him.
Adam stared intently at her, his eyes red-rimmed.
Celine continued, "You don't have to feel obligated. This will be our secret. I won't tell Carly."
Adam's eyes darkened.
Celine pecked his lips. Her eyes gleamed. "I'm really good at this, Adam—" She meant she was good at her profession as a doctor, but Adam's interpretation ignited a roaring flame within him. He kissed her hungrily, abandoning all self-control in a surge of passion.
After a long time, Adam held Celine close. Her face glowed warmly against his chest. They shared a serene moment following their passionate encounter.
After a while, Celine stirred. "I need to use the restroom."
Adam's voice was still husky. "I'll carry you."
"No." Celine turned to get down, but Adam's hug from behind caused her head to bump the headboard.
"Ouch!" she yelped.
Adam quickly massaged the spot. "Did it hurt?"
Celine looked at him. Lingering desire remained in his eyes, but tenderness dominated. He gazed at her gently. This was him after passion: tender and doting.
Celine's heart melted. "It didn't."
"Really?"
"Of course." She giggled, burying her face in his arms.
A sharp knock came from the wall—Ryan's turn.
Celine froze.
Adam raised an eyebrow. Who was questioning his capabilities? He would prove Ryan wrong.
He covered them with a blanket. "Are you tired?"
