Listen to this chapter:

Matthew was even more confused. Marty's explanation was strange. Opulent Club built for his sake? Matthew refused to believe it. He wasn't the only one; even the two receptionists looked dumbstruck.

Opulent Club was the most secretive and lucrative club in Lambda City. Influential figures and wealthy businessmen prided themselves on membership, often flaunting it to demonstrate their status. But Marty now said this place was opened for Matthew. Who on earth was Matthew?

Marty noticed Matthew's confusion. "We're not in the right place to talk, Mr. Grant. Please head to the ninth floor. Someone will explain everything to you."

The ninth floor? The two receptionists gasped. Since Opulent Club's establishment, hardly anyone had visited the third floor. Only one person had been to the fourth, and no one had ever reached the higher floors. The mysterious ninth floor was legendary. Yet, moments ago, Marty had invited Matthew there. The receptionists stood, mouths agape, for a long time.

Marty's unusual behavior prompted Matthew to press for the truth. "Sure, let's go somewhere private. I'm keen to hear what you have to say."

Marty leaned forward. "This way, Mr. Grant."

Matthew nodded and followed Marty to the ninth floor. After a chime, the elevator doors opened. Marty held the doors open with one hand, gesturing with the other. "Please go ahead, Mr. Grant."

Matthew stepped out, but Marty remained inside. "Aren't you coming?" Matthew asked.

Marty's eyes darkened. "Apologies, I'm not allowed on the ninth floor. Don't worry, someone will attend to you."

Once again annoyed by the complicated rules, Matthew's mouth twitched. Even the manager wasn't authorized to enter the ninth floor. The ninth floor had truly piqued his interest. He turned from Marty and went inside.

The ninth floor boasted 10,000 square feet, oddly decorated and divided into ten sections. The decor in each section was bizarre, like individual bed-and-breakfasts, each with a different theme. For example, the first section resembled an old pharmacy: wooden chairs, tables, and cabinets, and a bookshelf filled with medical books.

An old man in his seventies stood there. He had a smooth face, gray hair, and a healthy complexion. He was reading a medical book. Hearing footsteps, he immediately stood and fixed his gaze on Matthew. At last, when he saw Matthew's Juprus Ring, he leaned forward. "It really is you, Mr. Matthew Grant. I'm Ansel Mullins. You must have heard of me."

Ansel Mullins? Matthew was startled. Before Nicholas left, Matthew had been assigned the task of seeking out Ansel for further details. Nicholas had cautioned him that it was difficult, advising him not to seek Ansel out unless he had everything sorted at home and was ready for the task. With deep gratitude, Matthew vowed to Nicholas that he would complete it, no matter how difficult. Matthew received Ansel's contact information from Nicholas. He'd planned to seek Ansel out after leaving prison and settling things at home. But things didn't go as planned. Immediately after his release, Tessa filed for divorce, and he still hadn't sorted things out. Unexpectedly, Matthew found Ansel here.

Since he had run into Ansel, Matthew decided to find out about the task Nicholas had assigned. "Since we're here, can you tell me about the task my mentor left for me?"

Ansel chuckled. "Opulent Club was built for you, sir. Have a seat, and I'll make you some coffee. We can slowly get into…"
