Chapter 516

Alexisโ€™s playful interview had his fans and onlookers in stitches. The Best Actor, a man shrouded in mystery and famed for his early success and numerous awards, had always projected an air of aloofness. Yet, the man whoโ€™d once spent two months on a construction site to authentically portray a working-class character for a supporting role, a role that catapulted him to stardom, was anything but arrogant. He remained grounded, relentlessly pursuing perfection despite his fame.

His public persona, however, remained distant. He rarely endorsed products, his business dealings far less publicized than his critically acclaimed, record-breaking filmsโ€”two a year, each a cinematic event. This calculated mystery only heightened his allure. No one expected this mischievous side. The interview felt less like an interview and more like an invitation to a party.

The comments exploded: โ€œ[I didnโ€™t expect this, Alexis!]โ€ โ€œ[Dreamscape, get to work! Send him an inviteโ€”now!]โ€ โ€œ[Dreamscape, hurry, before I beg you!]โ€ The tide had turned, drowning the B-list celebrityโ€™s negative press.

Dreamscapeโ€™s ascent was undeniable. Suddenly, everyone noticed the crowns and gowns Jean Morris of Tikiaโ€™s wealthy family collectedโ€”all Dreamscape creations. Zephyr Corpโ€™s CEOโ€™s aunt sported a Dreamscape gown at several events. Most shocking? The Erancian crown prince wore Dreamscapeโ€™s private label at a recent charity gala.

Each of these individuals possessed unparalleled prestige, and they were all seemingly Dreamscape fansโ€”or rather, fans of its designer, Maeve. Henryโ€™s actions had previously painted her as the โ€œdaughter of a wanted criminal,โ€ overshadowing her talent. Now, the slander cleared, her brilliance shone through.

The comments section buzzed: โ€œ[The youngest chief designer of the Russian royal family, Gradelle University design doctorate, three-time Golden Thread Award winnerโ€ฆ sheโ€™s achieved more than I ever will!]โ€ โ€œ[OMG! Look at Maeveโ€™s designs for the Erancian Queen! I NEED them all!]โ€

โ€œ[A B-list celebrityโ€™s a joke. Dreamscape sent him an invite; he refused and mocked Maeve. Is that what fans call โ€˜straightforwardโ€™?]โ€ โ€œ[Mr. Soarโ€™s more famous and didnโ€™t even try to leverage Dreamscape's popularity. This guyโ€™s a nobody.]โ€ โ€œ[Seriously, how do I get a Dreamscape invite?]โ€ โ€œ[Dream on.]โ€

Maeve, initially prepared to seethe, was stunned. Not only had Alexis defended Dreamscape, he'd single-handedly generated a tsunami of positive publicity. Alexis and Dreamscape were trending. Maeve was unaware of his Best Actor status, believing his claims of obscurity. โ€œHow is he not famous?โ€

Luckily, theyโ€™d exchanged contact information. Maeve texted Alexis her gratitude.

Ryan: [Small thing, really. About that invitationโ€ฆ]

Maeve: [You werenโ€™t serious, right? You really want to come?]

Ryan: [I was serious. I love your designs. Formal wear, private labelโ€”I even had my assistant book a custom slot. Iโ€™ll be in touch.]

An idea struck Maeve. [Will you be the finale model for our show?]

Maeve: [No pressure, of course.]

Ryan: [Never modeled. Sounds fun! If youโ€™re okay with it, Iโ€™ll try.]

Maeve: [Iโ€™d be honored, Mr. Soar!]

Ryan: [Call me Alexis. Mr. Soar is a bitโ€ฆ formal.]

Maeve: [Alexis, it is.]

Ryan smiled, phone in hand, when Aeolian burst into the lounge.

โ€œAeolian? What are you doing here?โ€ Ryan straightened, waving cheerfully.

Aeolian, seething, slumped beside him, grabbing his arm. โ€œRyan, when did you meet Maeve? Why didnโ€™t you mention her?โ€

โ€œA while ago. It was a coincidence.โ€ Ryan avoided specifics. โ€œYou know her?โ€

โ€œKnow her?!โ€ Aeolian scoffed. โ€œShe fawned over Gale at my house, then tried to cozy up to Zephyr. Sheโ€™s shameless! Iโ€™m worried sheโ€™ll target you!โ€

Ryan frowned. โ€œAeolian, do you have proof?โ€

โ€œI saw it with my own eyes!โ€

โ€œMaybe you misunderstood. Maeveโ€™s not like that. Besides, she has children.โ€

Aeolian raged, โ€œThat makes it worse! Sheโ€™s scheming! Iโ€™ve been burned by her, even scolded by Zephyr because of her!โ€

Ryan understood instantly. He smiled. โ€œZephyr doesnโ€™t criticize lightly. You probably provoked her first.โ€ He knew Aeolian best. The spoiled, only daughter of the Soar family was notoriously entitled and dismissive.

Aeolian stamped her foot. โ€œAlexis, are you my brother? You always defend outsiders! Youโ€™re not seriously going to her show, are you? Flattering her?โ€

โ€œOf course Iโ€™m your brother.โ€ Ryan ruffled her hair. โ€œI promised. Going back on my word isnโ€™t good.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t care. Donโ€™t go. Attending that trash show will lower your status!โ€ Aeolian persisted. โ€œTell me, am I more important to you, or her?โ€
