Maeve followed Alex upstairs to the 29th floor. Only then did she realize his studio occupied an entire floor.

As soon as Maeve stepped out of the elevator, she saw round glass windows on either side, showcasing various modeling platforms displaying garments.

Noticing her gaze, Alex explained, "These are the most eye-catching collections chosen by VIP guests at the annual fashion exhibition. The Morningstar collection, which you and Jack manage, also stands a chance this year."

Maeve pursed her lips and smiled. "There are so many talented designers in the company. We'll do our best." She was relatively new to the company; even confident in her designs, she didn't dare to think too much about it.

After entering the studio, Alex went to the rest area to get Maeve a drink. Maeve looked around, her gaze drawn to a mannequin beside the workbench.

On it was a pink and white wedding dress. Its design flowed in a droplet shape from shoulder to chest, adorned with several dazzling diamonds. Upon closer inspection, the diamonds were exquisitely hand-sewn. However, the hem remained unfinished.

"Do you think this wedding dress is suitable for embroidered flower blossoms?" Alex's voice came from behind.

Maeve turned, accepting the hot drink he offered. "Thank you," she said. "Are you planning a two-layered skirt?"

Alex nodded. "I plan to embroider dark roses on the inner layer; the outer layer of gauze will be light-colored, creating a layered effect."

"This wedding dress is quite lively, suitable for a woman in her twenties. Crewelwork would feel more dignified and elegantโ€”perhaps a bit out of place," Maeve suggested.

A hint of admiration flickered in Alex's eyes. "I think so too, which is why I haven't finished the hem," he admitted.

Maeve put down her cup and approached the wedding dress. An idea struck her. She gathered the tulle on the left side to the right waist, tying it into a light, elegant bow. "How about this?" she asked Alex.

Alex's eyes lit up. The scene before him instantly changed his plans. "From this perspective, the embroidery won't diminish the dress's grace; it will enhance it," he said. One could easily imagine how dreamy a bride would look in it.

Alex went to the display area, retrieving a needle and thread. "I'm not very proficient in embroidery," he told Maeve, "so I'll need your guidance later."

"Mr. Brown, you're too humble," Maeve replied with a faint smile.

Even the top half of the wedding dress showcased the exquisite and unique craftsmanship that only years of experience could produce. Alex might lack embroidery skills, but his design talent was undeniable. No wonder "Eternal Hope's" most famous creations weren't gowns, but wedding dresses.

With Maeve's help, Alex quickly embroidered a rough pattern. He wanted Maeve to try it on to see if the overlapping flower effect would work as she moved.

Maeve looked at the shimmering wedding dress and hesitated. "I'm probably not as good as the model," she said.

"It's okay. I just want to see the general effect. Don't feel pressured," Alex reassured her.

Maeve nodded. Alex helped her take the dress to the lounge, waiting outside.

After changing, Maeve carefully laid out the layers of the dress before the full-length mirror. Noticing accessories on the table, she casually tied back her long hair and secured a veil.

Having done so, she pushed the veil behind her and looked up at her reflection. Seeing herself in the pink and white wedding dress, she was momentarily stunned, captivated by its beauty. It made her feel like a princess.

After admiring herself for a while, Maeve took a mirror selfie, mosaicing the dress before posting it on Twitter. [Indeed, girls are most beautiful in wedding dresses.] Several comments quickly followed:

Bonnie: [Wow! Maeve, are you trying on a wedding dress? When did you start dating without telling me? Are you getting married?]

A woman: [Although the picture is blurry, the wedding dress is stunning. Where did you try it on?]

Another woman: [I want to photograph this wedding dress. Price negotiable.]

Ray: [Wow!]

Ray, having exchanged contact information with Maeve previously, immediately sent the picture to Jarrett and teased Byron:

Ray: [When's the wedding?]

Byron: [Are you kidding?]

Ray: [Still lying? I saw Maeve's Twitter.]

This message stunned Byron. He dismissed Archer and checked Maeve's Twitter. The pink and white veil draped over her long hair, partially concealing her smiling face, adding a touch of charm and allure. He froze, reading her comment. What is she hinting at? Does she actually want a wedding? He frowned, dialing Maeve's number.

Maeve was about to put down her phone when Byron called. "Mr. McDaniel? What's wrong?" she asked, her voice filled with joy.

Byron's words caught in his throat. After a long pause, he said in a low voice, "Are you trying on a wedding dress?"

Maeve was momentarily stunned before smiling. "Yes, you saw my Twitter, right? Isn't it beautiful?"

Byron's voice was flat. "If you like it, buy it. Wear it at home for fun," he said, adding silently, but a wedding is out of the question.

Maeve was surprised. Remembering designers' comments about Alex's million-dollar wedding dresses, and the diamonds on this one, she quickly shook her head. "This dress is very expensive. Besides, I'm just helping someone try it on."

Byron pursed his lips, unsure if she was worried he couldn't afford it or simply didn't want it. He suspected it was the former. "Maeve, there will never be a wedding between us," he said coldly. "Don't get any ideas."
