Chapter 150: Mystery Man from Imperial City

Kason was the only one who knew the truth. It was highly likely that Brendanโ€™s downfall was orchestrated by Jonathan; it was too coincidental. Just after Brendan had spoken about teaching Jonathan a lesson, he ended up in trouble. Who exactly was Jonathan?

With this thought, Kason couldnโ€™t help but ask, โ€œHavenโ€™t you found out anything yet?โ€

His subordinate hurriedly replied, โ€œMr. Kason, Brendanโ€™s incident has stirred up a lot of attention, and everyone is being very cautious, not willing to talk.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t give me excuses; I want results.โ€

Kason was displeased. He spent so much money annually, not to sustain incompetents. His people, pushed to their limits, did manage to dig up some information.

โ€œMr. Kason, itโ€™s said that Mr. Brendan offended someone from Imperial City.โ€

โ€œFrom Imperial City?โ€

Kason frowned. Is Jonathanโ€™s background that significant?

โ€œYes, they say he was visiting Maviston yesterday, and Brendan decided to target him, which led him to flip the entire place in anger. The incident happened just last night, and some people were aware of it.โ€

โ€œAll this, just a coincidence?โ€

Kason still felt something was off. โ€œDid you find out anything about that personโ€™s identity?โ€

โ€œMr. Kason, we really canโ€™t dig that up.โ€

The subordinate looked forlorn. Getting even this much information was tough; their contacts didnโ€™t know much about the visitor, only that Brendan had crossed a line with the wrong person.

After pondering for a moment, Kason decided, โ€œForget it, itโ€™s his own bad luck!โ€ He had warned Brendan before not to mess with unknown factors. Brendan, however, couldnโ€™t control himself around anyone he found attractive, although he preferred to play it safe.

โ€œKeep an eye on Brendan; make sure he doesnโ€™t talk.โ€ He didnโ€™t want Brendan spilling anything he knew, not that it was much, but it was always good to be cautious.

โ€œYes, sir.โ€

The subordinate quickly went to see it done. Kason still felt uneasy, suspecting that the timing of the events was too convenient. Suddenly, he had an idea and pulled out his phone to make a call.

โ€œHello?โ€

Shaneโ€™s voice came through quickly.

โ€œI heard Mr. Shane is also from Imperial City?โ€ Kason ventured.

โ€œWhat would Mr. Kason like to know?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™ve heard about Brendanโ€™s situation, havenโ€™t you?โ€ Kason asked.

11:01 AM

โ€œI caught wind of it this morning.โ€

โ€œDo you know who the other party might be?โ€

Shane didnโ€™t answer immediately, and the call was silent except for faint breathing, making Kason wonder if he had hung up. Knowing what Shane wanted, Kason coldly added, โ€œYou wonโ€™t miss out on any benefits.โ€

Hearing this, Shane finally spoke. โ€œItโ€™s said he crossed someone from the Radeon family.โ€

After dropping this information, Shane hung up.

The Radeon family? Kason was puzzled and quickly ordered his people to look up any prominent Radeon families in Imperial City. This information wasnโ€™t secretive, and his people soon gathered some details, which he reviewed and then set aside, suddenly asking, โ€œAlso, check if thereโ€™s any prominent Yeager family.โ€

โ€œYes, Mr. Kason.โ€

After giving the orders, Kason reopened his phone to a photo of Jonathan and Sierra holding hands. He stared at it for a while before dialing Sierraโ€™s number.

โ€œHello, Ms. Xander, are we still on for Saturday!โ€

Sierra was having dinner with Jonathan when she received Kasonโ€™s call. She instinctively looked up at Jonathan. Sensing something, Jonathan frowned at her.

Avoiding Jonathanโ€™s gaze, Sierra responded, โ€œOf course! Every meeting with Mr. Kason is something to look forward to.โ€

Hearing Kasonโ€™s name, Jonathanโ€™s expression grew even sharper.

After hanging up, Sierra avoided his eyes and said, โ€œI know what Iโ€™m doing.โ€

Jonathan remained silent, just looking at her coldly. Even without looking up, Sierra could feel his anger. She hesitated but continued, โ€œKason is cautious; getting anything on him isnโ€™t easy. I have to try.โ€ And if she could leverage something against Kason, it might even draw out Shane, who was much tougher to handle. Thinking it over, she added, โ€œHe might have the truth about the car accident from over three years ago.โ€

โ€œThe accident!โ€ Jonathan finally spoke. โ€œAre you talking about the one that sent you to jail three years ago?โ€
