Chapter 159: You Are Lying!

โ€œWell, I really donโ€™t think we can blame the Xander family for playing favorites. If it were me, Iโ€™d be biased too.โ€

โ€œExactly. Look at Denise. She is sweet, soft, and always so good at providing emotional support. Compared to that, Sierra is like a porcupine. Who would like her?โ€

โ€œJealousy is one thing, but ruining her own brotherโ€™s reputation because of it? A sister like that isnโ€™t worth keeping.โ€ Sierra had no idea what was being said online, nor did she care. She only had eyes for the sickly-looking Denise. She had to admit, Denise was really pushing herself. Even in such a frail state, she still insisted on showing up.

If Denise hadnโ€™t come looking for trouble, Sierra might not have even thought of her. But at this exact moment, she just had to make a scene.

Sierra let out a mocking laugh. โ€œHave you lied so much that even you believe it now? Donโ€™t worry, take your time! Your turn is coming soon.โ€

With that, she ignored Deniseโ€™s face turning pale and looked straight at Evan. โ€œNow, letโ€™s talk about the theft of my research!โ€ You keep accusing me of stealing. Do you have any proof? Evan finally snapped.

He had endured everything Sierra had said before, but he couldnโ€™t tolerate this. Accusing him of theft was the biggest insult. โ€œWould I be here if I had no proof?โ€ Sierra pulled out a thick stack of papers from her bag and raised her voice. โ€œThese are my research notes from the very beginning โ€“ detailing every step, including my calculations and experimental data.โ€

Before anyone could question her, she took out a USB drive. โ€œThis contains my lab records, accurate timestamps, and research directions.โ€

The moment she presented her evidence, the atmosphere shifted. There were many industry professionals and officials present, and some immediately stepped forward to verify the documents.

Evan himself rushed to examine them. As soon as he saw the contents, his face went pale. He snapped his head up to stare at Sierra. โ€œThis is impossible. How could Sierra have been researching this?โ€

Before he could process it, Yaron spoke up. โ€œSo what if you have these documents? Itโ€™s normal for research directions to overlap. Take robotics, for example โ€“ how many companies and researchers are working on it?โ€

Yaronโ€™s words werenโ€™t unreasonable. Evanโ€™s expression eased slightly, but his gaze toward Sierra remained complicated. โ€œI donโ€™t know how you found out what I was researching, but Sierra, stop this. Youโ€™ve always been like this, desperate for our attention, always trying to please us. But Iโ€™ve told you before, no matter what, youโ€™re my sister, my family. That will never change.โ€

His words shifted the mood in the room once again.

Sierra was so angry she almost laughed. Even now, Evan was still trying to spin things in his favor.

Her voice was icy. โ€œHave you forgotten? Legally speaking, I have nothing to do with the Xander family anymore. So stop with the family talk. And donโ€™t flatter yourself, I was never trying to please you. Youโ€™re not that important. Stealing from me and then acting so self-righteous about it โ€“ what a performance. But you seem to have overlooked something.โ€

She sneered at Evan. โ€œAfter all this time, youโ€™re still stuck at the first stage, merely proving feasibility. Do you have any idea how far along I am?โ€

Evanโ€™s heart sank. He stared at Sierra, his expression full of shock. A terrible suspicion crept into his mind. Sierraโ€™s research had to be ahead of his, or she wouldnโ€™t be saying this.

How is that possible?

His progress was already at the limit. His professor had called it a miracle. There was no way Sierra had gotten further than him.

Franklin sensed that things were taking a dangerous turn. He couldnโ€™t let Sierra continue. He quickly shot a look at Bradley and Sean. โ€œGet Sierra out of here. Now.โ€

Franklin regretted letting her go on for this long.

Bradley understood the urgency and reached out to grab Sierra, but she was faster.

She raised her voice. โ€œYouโ€™ve only proven feasibility. Iโ€™ve already completed the research, and itโ€™s now in clinical trials!โ€

โ€œImpossible!โ€ Evan blurted out. โ€œThatโ€™s absolutely impossible! Youโ€™re lying!โ€

Even with Jonathanโ€™s help, there was no way she could have finished it.
