Chapter 95: Missing

She couldnโ€™t help but wonder what kind of expression Denise would have tomorrow.

When she got home, she was surprised to find Dickson wasnโ€™t there. She tried calling him, but he didnโ€™t pick up. Growing more uneasy, she called her grandmother, but Lily said he hadnโ€™t visited her either.

A strange sense of unease settled in her chest. After thinking it over, she decided to head to the property management office to check the security footage. Just as she was about to leave, she ran into Jonathan.

Her eyes lit up. โ€œMr. Yeager, youโ€™re back!โ€

She hadnโ€™t seen Jonathan in daysโ€”he had been away for the past two.

โ€œAre you heading out?โ€ he asked with a nod.

โ€œI need to check the security cameras. Dicksonโ€™s missing,โ€ Sierra said, frowning.

Dickson rarely went anywhere besides home and the hospital, and if he did, he always let her know. This wasnโ€™t like him. This had never happened before.

Jonathan didnโ€™t think she was overreacting. โ€œIโ€™ll go with you.โ€

Since Sierra had just moved in, there was a chance the property management staff wouldnโ€™t take her request seriously.

Sure enough, with Jonathan there, the staff didnโ€™t ask too many questions. They quickly pulled up the footage, and Sierra saw that Dickson had left the complex around noon and hadnโ€™t returned since.

She tried calling Dickson several more times, but he never answered, and eventually, his phone was turned off.

โ€œSomethingโ€™s wrong,โ€ Sierra said firmly, her chest tightening. The memory of how she had first found Dicksonโ€”beaten and barely consciousโ€”flashed through her mind. โ€œIโ€™m calling the police.โ€

She reached for her phone, but Jonathan stopped her. โ€œHeโ€™s an adult, and he hasnโ€™t been missing for 24 hours yet. They wonโ€™t take the case. Let me make some calls.โ€

With that, Jonathan called someone to start looking for Dickson.

He wanted Sierra to go home and wait for updates, but she couldnโ€™t sit still.

โ€œIโ€™m going to check the club where he used to work. Maybe someone there knows something.โ€

Dickson had mentioned his old job before, and it wasnโ€™t far from there.

โ€œLetโ€™s,โ€ Jonathan said, unwilling to let her go alone.

The moment they stepped out of the car, a doorman greeted them. โ€œWelcome.โ€

Sierra pulled up a photo of Dicksonโ€”the one taken when he had gone out with Lily that day. โ€œHave you seen him?โ€

The doormanโ€™s eyes flickered slightly.

Sierra immediately pressed, โ€œHe was here today, wasnโ€™t he?โ€

The man hesitated, saying nothing. Just as Sierra was about to push further, Jonathan stepped in. He pulled out a few bills from his wallet and handed them over.

โ€œHeโ€™s our brother. Weโ€™re really worried about him. Can you tell us what you know?โ€

Sierra was slightly surprised by how smoothly Jonathan handled the situation.

The doorman took the money, glanced around, then said in a low voice, โ€œYeah, he was here earlier todayโ€ฆ 10:50 AM.โ€

Sierraโ€™s stomach dropped. Without another word, she turned and headed straight into the club.

Sierra quickly spotted the club manager and walked straight up to him. โ€œIโ€™m Dicksonโ€™s sister. Iโ€™m here to see him.โ€

The manager hesitated, giving her a once-over before something clicked in his mind. โ€œWaitโ€ฆ arenโ€™t you the Xander familyโ€™s daughter?โ€

Sierra had been in the spotlight a lot lately, and word had spread. The club had already heard rumors about her being the Xander familyโ€™s daughter.

He let out a short laugh. โ€œMs. Xander, you must be joking. How could someone like you be related to Dickson? Someone like him isnโ€™t even in the same league as you.โ€

Disgust surged through Sierra, and her voice turned ice-cold. โ€œIโ€™ll ask one more timeโ€”where is Dickson?โ€

Realizing she wasnโ€™t here to joke around, the managerโ€™s smile faded slightly, but he kept up his act. โ€œMs. Xander, Dickson did work here before, but I havenโ€™t seen him since he quit. Maybe you should check somewhere else?โ€

Sierra knew he was lying. She let out a cold laugh. โ€œDo you think I came here without knowing anything? Just because I donโ€™t look it doesnโ€™t mean I donโ€™t know. Now, hand him overโ€”or things wonโ€™t end well for anyone.โ€

Seeing how firm she was, the managerโ€™s friendly demeanor disappeared completely. He had only been polite to Sierra out of respect for her family name. But since she refused to back down, there was no point in pretending anymore. It wasnโ€™t like the Xander family cared much about her anyway.

With that thought, he said flatly, โ€œMs. Xander, Iโ€™ve already told you everything I know. If you donโ€™t believe me, thereโ€™s nothing I can do. Even if you bring the police, the answer wonโ€™t change.โ€

Sierraโ€™s expression darkened. The way he spokeโ€”so sure of himselfโ€”meant he had backing. He wasnโ€™t afraid of being investigated. Even if she called the police, they probably wouldnโ€™t find anything.
