Chapter 101: Not Enough Discipline

Time ticked by, and Zayne and the others remained kneeling. Their knees ached terribly, but none dared to rise.

Twenty minutes later, Tommy burst into the room. Charlie rushed forward. "Mr. Lewis," he greeted him.

Zayne and the others looked up as Tommy entered. The sight of him nearly caused them to faint. They’d never seen him before, but his bloodthirsty aura was terrifying.

Tommy ignored Charlie, fixing his gaze on Jared. Jared’s knowing look prompted Tommy to remain silent. Hilda and Maria were present; if they knew of Jared’s involvement, Jared’s parents would certainly find out.

Tommy’s face darkened. He slapped Charlie hard. "Didn't I tell you to wait?"

Charlie was stunned. Tommy knelt, helping Zayne to his feet. "I failed to discipline my men. Forgive me." He turned to Charlie. "What happened?"

Charlie recounted the events, omitting nothing. Upon learning Josh was the instigator, Tommy's expression soured. He looked at Josh, who still grimaced on the ground.

Josh, seeing the murderous look in Tommy's eyes, struggled to rise. "Mr. Lewis, I—"

Tommy cut him off. "Break his limbs and throw him out. He's forbidden from returning."

Zayne and the others, hearing Josh's cries of pain, urinated in fear. Tommy's cruelty terrified them.

Tommy smiled slightly. "I apologize for my subordinate ruining your evening. All expenses are covered. Please enjoy yourselves. I'll send up some of our finest wine."

The sudden shift in his demeanor bewildered everyone. They remained frozen.

Jared finally spoke. "In that case, Mr. Lewis, thank you for your hospitality."

"The pleasure is mine. I'm truly sorry," Tommy replied humbly.

Jared returned to their private room with the two shocked girls. Zayne followed like a zombie.

"Mr. Lewis, are they—"

Before Charlie could finish, Tommy slapped him again. "Do you know who Jared is?"

Charlie shook his head. "No."

"He's our overlord. Our ultimate boss."

Charlie's face paled. As one of Tommy's key lieutenants, he knew the Templar Regiment belonged to the Dragon Sect. Tommy was revealing the Dragon Sect's overlord. He never expected it to be the unassuming Jared.

"Then Steven… was he defeated by him?" Charlie asked, astonished.
