Chapter 116: Rules

"Where are you going, my lord? I can drive you," Tommy asked.

"I'm going to Vintage Restaurant for dinner. Yes, that will be great," Jared replied. "How convenient! I can save my spiritual energy."

Tommy was stunned. "My lord, that place belongs to the Crimson Dragon Gang. After what you did to Steven, they might take revenge."

Who would have thought Vintage Restaurant belonged to the Crimson Dragon Gang! Even so, I have nothing to fear.

"It's just dinner. Nothing will happen. Even if someone gets hurt, it'll be someone from the Crimson Dragon Gang," Jared said expressionlessly.

Well, that's true. Judging by Jared's capabilities, he should have no trouble dealing with Steven's lackeys.

Tommy opened the car door, and they headed to Vintage Restaurant.

Meanwhile, Zayne, elated after humiliating Jared, was singing as he drove to the restaurant. But a Bentley sped past him.

"What the hell? Has he lost his mind?" Zayne yelled instinctively. He then realized it was a Bentley and visibly cowered, knowing he couldn't afford to offend someone of such obvious wealth and status. A commoner wouldn't own a Bentley in Horington.

While Jared was en route, Felix Lawson, a scarred, middle-aged man and Crimson Dragon Gang lieutenant, sat in his luxurious office at Vintage Restaurant. Four burly men stood behind him, creating a menacing atmosphere. He was trimming a cigar. He was the restaurant's manager, and Steven had entrusted him with its operation due to his loyalty.

He was meeting with Xavier, Sentiment Chemical Limited's general manager, who sat tensely holding a briefcase.

After finishing his cigar, Felix asked, "What's your business?"

"Mr. Lawson, I need you to eliminate someone," Xavier said respectfully.

"You know my rules," Felix stated flatly.

"Yes. I have one million here. The target is a commoner, so it shouldn't be a problem." Xavier opened his briefcase, revealing stacks of cash.

Felix's lips curled into a smile. "All right. Give me his details, and he'll be gone within three days."

"Actually, I've invited him to dinner here. I was hoping you could create a scene and eliminate him then. No one would suspect me." Xavier feared Josephine might discover his involvement if anything went wrong. If Jared disappeared after a confrontation with Felix, however, he'd seem innocent.

Felix furrowed his brows. "Kill someone in Vintage Restaurant? Don't you know the impact that would have on my business?"

"Mr. Lawson, I'll give you another half a million afterward. Please, I need your help!" Xavier pleaded.

"Fine. For the money, I'll help you!" Felix nodded. "I'll send men when you're having dinner."

"Thank you, Mr. Lawson!" Xavier left.

A wicked smile spread across Xavier's face. Once you're dead, Jared, Josephine will be all mine!
