Chapter 274: A Proper Restaurant
In the lobby on the top floor of the Meadow Restaurant, Tommy displayed his revitalizing pills. The thumb-sized, black pills looked unsightly. Their unappealing appearance overshadowed any potential effectiveness.
"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming. I'm pleased to introduce our revitalizing pills. These are—"
"Spare us the formalities!" a middle-aged man in a checkered suit impatiently interjected. "We're busy. Just name your price."
Everyone turned to admire the man's boldness. They all suspected Tommy was simply trying to make money, but lacked the courage to confront him directly.
Tommy, however, wasn't angered. Smiling, he replied, "Harry, I have a special pill for you. It's been a while since you've been with a woman, hasn't it?"
Harry blushed crimson. He'd only been so blunt because of their close friendship, a friendship that explained Tommy's knowledge of his health issues. Years of debauchery had left Harry, despite being only in his thirties, with impotence. Numerous doctors and expensive treatments had failed, leading him to give up and focus on his business. Still, Tommy's public revelation was mortifying.
"I'm not taking that! It's black and ugly. I doubt it's even medicine. If you need money, just say so!"
The pills were utterly unappetizing to Harry.
"Wrong, Harry. These pills are free today. Since you doubt them, you'll be the first to try!" Tommy grinned, approaching Harry.
"No way! I'm not risking my life on that hideous thing!" Harry backed away fearfully.
"Trust me. You'll be singing its praises afterward!"
With a swift move, Tommy popped a pill into Harry's mouth. Harry tried to spit it out, but it dissolved instantly.
The crowd erupted in laughter.
Within seconds, Harry felt a surge of warmth. The reaction in his nether regions was even more shocking. Years of treatments had yielded nothing, until now. The crowd watched, dumbfounded, as the change in Harry became obvious.
"Do… do you have a woman here? I need a woman! Find me one!" Harry exclaimed excitedly.
"This is a restaurant, Harry! Take care of that at home!" Tommy shook his head.
Harry bolted for the door, looking back as he ran. "Save me some pills! I'll pay whatever you want!"
Seeing the transformation, others were intrigued.
"Give me one, Mr. Lewis. I have a bad back, possibly rheumatoid arthritis. Let's see if this helps!" a man volunteered.
Tommy readily tossed him a pill; they were free, after all. The man, too, felt immediate warmth and relief from his back pain.
