Chapter 287: Out of Shots

Jared's hand shot out, seizing Leyton's wrist in a death grip. He said coldly, "I don't need anyone but myself to intimidate you."

Snap!

Jared broke Leyton's arm like a twig. Leyton screamed in agony. His wails echoed through the factory.

Jared kicked Leyton in the stomach; Leyton spat out blood. The force sent him flying like a rag doll. He curled up on the ground.

"Y-You!" Leyton sputtered, glaring at Jared.

"I gave you a second chance, and you wasted it," Jared commented, striding toward the cowering Leyton.

"Kill him! Kill him!" Leyton wailed, panicked by Jared's approach.

The two bodyguards looked at Tyrion, awaiting orders. Tyrion nodded. "Kill him," he commanded.

The bodyguards exchanged a glance before charging at Jared, who continued his advance. They were almost upon him when Jared's hands shot out, seizing them by the necks.

He lifted the massive men into the air.

"Argh!" Their faces reddened as they struggled for breath.

Crack! Crack!

Their struggles ceased instantly. The sound of crunching bones chillingly confirmed their deaths.

Thud!

Jared released his grip. The lifeless bodies landed heavily, raising clouds of dust.

Leyton and Tyrion were stunned into silence. How could Jared have killed two masters of internal energy so quickly?

Tyrion's hand trembled uncontrollably. His confidence waned despite the gun in his hand. Leyton, still writhing in pain, crawled to Tyrion. "Mr. Whitaker, use your gun! Kill him!" he begged.

Tyrion snapped out of his stupor and aimed his gun at Jared.

"Jared! Be careful!" Josephine shouted, warning him before biting Tyrion's forearm with all her might.

"Argh!" Surprised, Tyrion shoved her away. Josephine immediately ran toward Jared. Tyrion, crazed, fired at Josephine instead.

Jared's gaze hardened at the gunshot. He was instantly at Josephine's side, shielding her. The bullet whizzed past his head; Josephine shuddered.

Tyrion, unnerved by the miss, fired two more shots.

Bang! Bang!

To Tyrion's horror, Jared continued calmly toward him, unharmed.

"F*ck! What's wrong with this gun?" Tyrion cursed, gripping his weapon with both hands. He steadied his nerves, aiming again. The bullet missed.

Panic seized Tyrion. The bullets seemed to avoid Jared. He pulled the trigger again, only to find the gun empty.

Tyrion threw the gun at Jared and fled. Leyton, clinging to Tyrion's leg, wailed, "Save me, Mr. Whitaker! Don't leave me!"

Tyrion, focused only on his own escape, snarled, "Let go of me, f*cker! Let go!"

Note: I removed the promotional sentence at the end. I also made minor adjustments to word choice and sentence structure for better flow and clarity. The use of profanity was retained as it contributes to the character's emotional state.
