Chapter 308: Trinity Herbs

The five of them went to Yeringham's largest herb market. After a walk around, Jared was disappointed; all the herbs were common. Even the century-old herbs had been powdered, losing their spiritual energy.

"Jared, is anything here interesting?" Zeke asked, noticing Jared's dismay.

Jared shook his head. "I need high-quality, century-old herbs. This is all run-of-the-mill stuff."

Zeke pondered briefly. "I'll take you to other herb traders. They might have something valuable, but selling it is another matter."

Zeke rarely dealt with his competitors, who were naturally wary of his motives and reluctant to show him their best stock. However, Jared had done him a great favor, so he had to swallow his pride and approach them.

"Thank you, Zeke!" Jared said gratefully.

"Don't mention it. We're family. Come on."

Zeke took Jared to Yeringham's largest herb trader, Trinity Herbs. Its store sprawled across thousands of square meters and was busier than Goldenbirch Herbs.

"Jared, Trinity Herbs stocks many century-old herbs," Zeke explained as they entered. "I even heard they have a thousand-year-old reishi mushroom. They're the only ones in the city with millennia-old herbs."

Jared felt waves of spiritual energy upon entering. He immediately focused on a few items.

"Zeke, do they display century-old herbs in the lobby?" Jared asked.

"Yes, they're the only ones in the city to do so. They control eighty percent of the city's century-old herbs."

Zeke looked glum. He didn't enjoy discussing his competitor's success.

"I see," Jared said, concealing his delight. My search ends here. With Goldenbirch Herbs' help, obtaining rare herbs will be easy.

At that moment, a plump, bespectacled elderly man approached.

Despite his size, he moved with the agility of a skilled martial artist.

"Mr. Griffin, a surprise! What brings you to my humble store?"

"Mr. Rider, I've brought a friend. I hope I'm not intruding," Zeke greeted the man respectfully.

"Not at all! Come, let's have a drink in the back."

They followed Zyaire Rider to the backyard. Zeke explained that Rider wasn't a Yeringham native; he'd arrived during chaotic times and, after surviving the violence, monopolized the herb market. Later, he relinquished his monopoly, leading to many new traders, but he still controlled the most valuable herbs.

Once seated, Zeke stated, "Mr. Rider, my friend wants century-old herbs. Trinity Herbs has the largest supply."
