Chapter 351: Going Back on Your Word

Jared frowned. "What is this?"

Jason's aura was far more powerful than Francis's.

"Be careful, Jared! He's activated Golden Armor!" Lizbeth cried, shocked.

Jason laughed. "I'll show you the power of Golden Armor, kid! You can't hurt me, even if you're strong enough to level mountains!"

"Is that so? Let's try then," Jared said, punching Jason in the chest.

Jason didn't dodge or block. He simply stood there, disdainful.

Gong!

A loud, bell-like sound echoed. Jason was unfazed, but Jared's arm went numb.

"Hahaha! Hahaha!" Jason cackled arrogantly.

A smirk touched Jared's lips. "Oh? Interesting. Here's another punch!"

Spiritual energy surged within him, accumulating in his fist until it glowed sun-bright.

Jason's smile froze. "W-What the hell is this?"

Jared threw a second punch.

Bang!

A thunderous sound. The light vanished. Jason stood rooted, the golden glow fading from his body.

"Jason!" his companions from Iron Gate Academy cried, rushing to his side.

Pfft!

Jason coughed up blood and pieces of his internal organs.

Plop!

Jason collapsed, lifeless, his eyes wide open.

Terrified, the Iron Gate Academy students fled.

"Youโ€ฆ why did you kill him?" Lizbeth gasped, regaining her composure.

"Didn't you ask me to? Going back on your word now?" Jared chuckled.

Lizbeth grabbed his arm. "I said it in anger! I didn't think you'd actually do it! We have to go before Iron Gate Academy comes for revenge!"

Jared was dragged away before lunch.

"Hey! I'm hungry!" he protested from the passenger seat, glancing at the still-shocked Lizbeth.

"I'll make you pasta at my place. You're reckless! Killing Jason like that!" Lizbeth sighed.

"You told me to," Jared replied nonchalantly.

Lizbeth's face flushed, but she couldn't retort.

Lizbeth parked in a residential area and brought Jared to her one-room apartment. It was small but clean and pleasantly smelled of a woman's home.

"Have a seat. I'll check the kitchen."

Lizbeth cooked while Jared sat in the living room, pondering. Strangeโ€ฆ Why would someone of her status rent a place like this? She could live with her family, or easily afford a nice house. Look at the money Walter spent on his Horington house! Selling one of their antiques would buy her a mansion!

He watched her work in the kitchen.
