Chapter 360: Clearing the Bar

Bam!

Jared's single kick sent Orb flying several meters into the air. He crashed to the ground with a deafening thud.

Seeing this, Oliver nearly fainted from fear. His eyes rolled back in his head.

"You brat! You dared to hit Orb? You're finished!" Thomas exclaimed gleefully.

Jared glared at Thomas, silencing him instantly.

One of Orb's men quickly helped him up. Blood trickled from Orb's mouth as he pushed himself to his feet.

"Clear the bar and lock the doors," Orb ordered, his eyes gleaming murderously at Jared.

Guards quickly ushered everyone out, including Oliver, who was roughly grabbed and dragged away.

Soon, only Jared and a few bar security guards remained.

Outside, Oliver spun around and fled. "Although Jared's my brother-in-law," he muttered, "I don't want to be involved in this mess with the Phoenix Regiment!"

Orb wiped the blood from his mouth and advanced on Jared. "You're the first to dare lift a finger against me! How can I salvage the Phoenix Regiment's reputation if I don't end your life?" he hissed.

Jared remained indifferent, calmly sipping his wine, unfazed by the threat.

"If it weren't for the Phoenix Regiment's reputation and your Madam's heroism, do you think you'd even be talking to me?" Jared retorted disdainfully.

"Even facing death, you're arrogant!" Orb's fury flared. "Kill him!"

Dozens of guards lunged at Jared, brandishing sticks.

Jared snorted, vanishing from his seat in an instant.

A blurry shadow darted among Orb's men as anguished screams filled the air. Within minutes, every guard lay crumpled on the floor, howling in pain. Jared, however, had spared them serious injury.

"What the f*ck?" Orb's jaw dropped at the sight of his defeated guards. Anger quickly morphed into sheer terror.

As Jared approached, Orb stumbled backward, his back hitting a wall. "W-What do you think you're doing? I'm a member of the Phoenix Regiment! Madam won't forgive you if you kill me!" he blustered.

Jared grinned at Orb's fear. "Don't be frightened. I never intended to kill you. I just need you to call your Madam."

Orb jolted. "What business do you have with our Madam? She's a saint, but she'll be enraged by the havoc you've wrecked! She might kill you!"

Jared replied, confused, "You wanted me dead? Wouldn't your Madam's arrival fulfill that wish?" Why is he trying to defend me? [The sentence in brackets should likely be removed or incorporated differently into the narrative.]

Flustered, Orb averted his gaze. "I-If Madam comes, she might not spare me," he whispered.

Jared realized Orb feared his Madam's punishment. His reckless behavior was unlike that of the Phoenix Regiment.

"Two choices: call her, or die," Jared thundered, impatient with Orb.

"Okay, okay! I'll call her!" Orb, his life on the line, chose survival.

Hastily, Orb called Phoenix.
