Chapter 399: Dead Again

"How could this be?" Zedekiah strained his magecraft to its limit. However, facing Jared's overwhelming counterattackโ€”a massive suction force like a bottomless abyssโ€”he couldn't resist.

"No! Don't! Stop it!"

Zedekiah felt his spiritual energy draining away.

"Why should I stop? Such a rich resource for cultivation rarely presents itself. Since you offered yourself, how could I refuse?"

Jared sneered, intensifying his Focus Technique.

"Arghh!"

Zedekiah shrieked as his body visibly aged. Quickly, he withered into a corpse, only then did Jared relent. The corpse fell to the ground.

Anthony, shocked by Zedekiah's transformation into a desiccated corpse, had never witnessed anything like it. He finally understood Walter and Glen's profound respect for Jared. This was the power of an immortal; even a Grandmaster couldn't achieve such a feat. This realization sparked a bold idea in Anthony's mind.

Jared zipped to Tommy and Phoenix, casually cloaking them in spiritual energy. A calming sensation washed over them, their pain vanished, and their strength returned.

"Mr. Chance, thank you so much!"

Overjoyed, Phoenix and Tommy expressed their gratitude. Jared remained silent, his gaze falling on the corpsesโ€”those who had sacrificed themselves to protect him. Murderous intent flashed in his eyes as he looked southwest, saying in a cold voice, "Crescent Sect, you will pay blood for blood."

Thousands of kilometers away, Fabian, feeding parasites in a black pot, shuddered involuntarily, his brow furrowing. A parasite leaped, biting his finger. A drop of blood fell into the pot, instantly consumed. But after violent squirming, the parasite died.

"Dead again?"

Fabian stared, troubled, towards Jazona. "A storm is brewing in Jazona!" He shrouded himself in black mist and vanished.

Outside the Jantz family mansion, Phoenix had dispatched cleanup crews, but the massive casualties weighed heavily on her.

"Tommy, spend some time with Phoenix. I'll check on Josephine and the others." Jared hadn't seen Josephine in days due to his training and worried about her.

"Okay!" Tommy nodded. "Mr. Chance, during your seclusion, the head of the Iron Gate Academy and someone from the Wagner family visited. The academy head came almost daily!"

"I see." Jared understood the academy head's apologies, fearing his wrath. [The promotional sentence has been removed as it is out of place and disruptive.]

After Tommy and Phoenix departed, Anthony approached Jared.

"General Long, I must thank you for your help!"

Jared looked at Anthony, who blushed with embarrassment. He hadn't contributed anything, merely observing from the sidelines. Even his Department of Justice subordinates remained unharmed.
