Listen to this chapter:

After a few beers, Troy, his face flushed red, stood and danced with the others. Jared, however, sat alone in a corner, silently observing. Just as the party was in full swing, the private room's door burst open. A bald man, holding a glass of wine, entered, followed by two suited bodyguards. Their sudden appearance stunned everyone, bringing the revelry to an abrupt halt. Even Hilda lowered her microphone.

The middle-aged man had a vacant, flushed look; he was clearly intoxicated. He surveyed the room with a smirk, saying, "So, just a bunch of kids. Who was singing? You sound good. Come to my private room and sing a few songs for me."

His words prompted nervous glances, but no one dared speak; his power was evident. They were all salaried employees, lacking the courage to defy him. He then focused on Hilda, Lydia, and Maria, the only ones still holding microphones.

"The three of you are lookers. Come to my room." He tossed a wad of hundred-dollar bills toward the women. His bodyguards approached, causing the women to recoil in fear. Zayne stepped forward to protect them. As the most senior member of the group, and Maria's boyfriend, he couldn't stand idly by. He couldn't afford to be seen letting his girlfriend be taken.

"Sir, who are you? We're here to sing and relax. These women are our friends, not hostesses," Zayne explained.

"Hostesses or not, it's embarrassing drinking beer in a place like this. Take this money, order some Lafite, and send the three girls to my room," the man retorted, slapping Zayne across the face. Though not painful, the gesture was deeply humiliating. Enraged, Zayne shoved the man, nearly causing him to fall. He immediately regretted it, uncertain of the man's connections. A violent confrontation seemed inevitable.

"What the f*ck? How dare you push me!" the man roared. "Beat him up!" His bodyguards lunged at the trembling Zayne. Seeing the attack, the rest of the men rallied, grabbing beer bottles and standing with Zayne. It was a chance to show loyalty to their manager. Outnumbering the opposition three to one, they felt confident they could win a fight.

Surprised by their unified response, the bodyguards hesitated. They hadn't anticipated such solidarity. Seeing their hesitation, Zayne seized the opportunity, kicking one bodyguard. "Get out of here, and I'll pretend this never happened!"
