Just as he spoke, Josh reached out to stroke Hilda's face. Turning pale with fear, she didn't even try to avoid his hand. Just as Josh was about to touch her, Jared grabbed his wrist. "I never intended to leave," Jared said, tightening his grip. A loud crack followed as Josh's wrist broke. The excruciating pain elicited a cry so agonizing that it chilled everyone to the bone.

"F*ck! My hand's broken! Stop, or I'll kill you and your girlfriend!" Josh roared, his face contorted with rage. Jared kicked Josh in the groin, sending him flying out of the room. He landed hard, his face turning purple. The kick had effectively incapacitated him.

Charlie was furious. "Kid, you've got some nerve beating up my client in front of me!" he exclaimed. With a menacing expression, he waved his hand. "Close the door and don't let anyone leave," he ordered. Zayne and the others were forced back into the office, the door locked behind them. They glared at Jared. "Jared, what the f*ck did you do that for? We would have left if it weren't for you!" Zayne yelled.

Seeing Josh's condition, Zayne and the others realized they wouldn't be easily released. "Why did you have to be a hero for a girl? We were already leaving! Now you've dragged us down with you!" "Jared, if you want to die, why take us with you?" "Exactly. If you want to fight, go fight on the streets!" "It's over. We're done for because of you." Everyone, including Lydiaโ€”who had planned to leave after a few drinks, or at worst, spend the nightโ€”blamed Jared. His actions had severely complicated the situation.

Only Hilda looked at Jared with worry. Tears in her eyes, she apologized, "Jared, I'm so sorry." She knew that if not for her, he wouldn't have intervened. She feared for his safety, possibly even his life.

"It'll be fine. Don't worry," Jared said with a casual smile. His unconcern further enraged the others, intensifying their accusations. Charlie's expression darkened. "Bob, cripple him," he ordered. Bob nodded, lunged at Jared, and swung a massive fist at his head.

Had the blow landed, Jared would have been critically injured. Everyone recoiled in fear, anticipating the bloodshed. With a determined expression, Hilda gritted her teeth and stepped forward, shielding Jared.
