Chapter 180
She wished she'd never participated in this love game.
"Lilia, come. Mommy will carry you!"
Seeing this, Bruce stepped forward. How could he possibly kiss Roxanne? He couldn't wait to see her fail. However, Roxanne's motive was to anger Joanna; his reaction was irrelevant. Whether he kissed her or not, as long as she angered Joanna, she'd achieved her goal.
While Bruce was stunned, Joanna took Lilia from his arms.
"Joanna!"
With a cold expression, Joanna walked away without looking back. Bruce instinctively took a few steps forward. "I'll—"
Joanna, carrying Lilia, quickly walked ahead.
"You really don't need to see us back. Let go!"
Bruce choked. He didn't know what to say or do. In this tangled mess of love, he was wrong. He was the one who had hurt Joanna so much, and now he wanted to take her child away from her even more! It was only right that she hated him.
A few seconds later, Bruce weakly released Joanna's arm. Joanna left without looking back.
Soon, Joanna was gone. Bruce finally exploded at Roxanne.
"You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
Roxanne feigned distress, looking at Bruce pitifully. "Bruce, don't be angry!"
Bruce said angrily, "Why are you doing this?"
"Bruce, I'm your fiancée, your girlfriend!"
"I can't stand seeing you and my sister getting so close. You're divorced; you can't pester her like this anymore!"
"Why do you care what I do?" Bruce gritted his teeth and headed for the door.
"Bruce, where are you going?"
"I'm going to work. You can go back!"
Bruce left without looking back.

Chapter 180
He couldn't stand Roxanne anymore! Unfortunately, she was like a stubborn adhesive; once stuck, she wouldn't let go. To remove her would cost him dearly. She was used to crying, throwing tantrums, and threatening him. If he even mentioned breaking up, she'd threaten suicide.
Bruce went to the Everett Group. All day, he felt depressed and frustrated.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Bruce's phone rang. It was Darcy. Seeing Darcy's name, Bruce answered quickly.
"Hello."
"Did you get the test results?"
Darcy reported, "Ms. Haynes disposed of Mr. Everett's leftovers from last night. I could only find some sewer residue to test."
"Did you get the results?"
"Yes, they're in."
"Although the sample was small, there were indeed drugs present!"
Bruce's heart sank. "What kind?"
"Sleeping pills, and" Darcy paused. The other drug was indescribable.
"Sleeping pills?"
"What else?"
"A drug for a specific purpose."
Bruce understood immediately. Roxanne had drugged his food; otherwise, he wouldn't have been so sleepy, so soundly asleep.
It was six in the evening. Bruce had returned to the Sherane Bay Villa—unusually early. Roxanne was pleasantly surprised.
"Bruce, why are you back so early? The food isn't ready yet!"

Bruce went straight to the point. "Roxanne, you don't need to cook. Come here; I need to ask you something."
Roxanne saw his angry expression and grew alarmed. "What is it?"
"What's this?" Bruce threw a test report on the table.
Roxanne picked it up, shocked. "Bruce" She never expected him to have the food tested.
"I'm asking you. What's in this?"
"Nothing!"
"What exactly did you put in the food?" Bruce's expression turned cold.
Roxanne looked away, panicked. She hadn't expected him to discover it so quickly.
"What did you put in it?"
"I was afraid you wouldn't sleep well, so I added some sleeping pills."
"Just a little. It wouldn't harm you!"
Bruce sneered. "Sleeping pills? I think it was more than that!"
"Alright! I admit there was another drug!" Roxanne confessed. "Bruce, you never wanted to touch me. I had no choice. I had to do this!"
Bruce took a deep breath. "You're terrifying!"
"Bruce!"
"Pack your things and move out of Sherane Bay Villa!"
Roxanne was stunned. She hadn't expected him to throw her out.
"Get lost! Leave immediately!"
"Bruce, please forgive me!" Roxanne cried, tugging at his arm.
"Darcy, pack Ms. Haynes's things and send her back!"
"Yes!"
"Bruce, no! I don't want to leave!"
"I won't do it again. Please forgive me!"
"Get out!" Bruce gritted his teeth. He hated being manipulated, especially by a woman. Why had he hated Joanna so much six years ago? He'd thought she had manipulated him. Now he realized how foolish he'd been.

Fortunately, he'd reacted in time. He could still make amends.
"Mr. Everett, her things are packed."
"Send her back."
"Bruce!"
"Ms. Haynes, this way, please!"
"I'm not leaving! Bruce, you can't do this!" Roxanne made a final attempt at resistance.
Darcy took her arm and dragged her out of Sherane Bay Villa. Soon, Roxanne was back at her parents' house. It was eight in the evening.
"Roxy, why are you back? Why the luggage?" Ingrid looked nervous.
"Stop asking!"
"Tell Mom what happened!"
"Bruce kicked me out!" Roxanne cried, covering her face.
"Ah! How did this happen?"
"Because of your advice!"
"What? Did he find out?"
"What else could it be?"
Roxanne sobbed, complaining to Ingrid, "Look what a terrible idea you gave me!"
Ingrid rolled her eyes. "Did you get his 'thing'?"
"Yes!"
"Silly girl, why worry about your future? You got what you wanted!"
"Mom"
"Listen. Go for artificial insemination tomorrow! As long as you're pregnant, he can't deny it! Even if he wants to, Margaret won't let him! If that bitch Joanna can win his heart with a child, so can you!"
"Mom, isn't this too risky?"
"What risk? As long as you bear a child for the Everett family, even a portion of their assets will set you up for life! If you don't give birth to his child, that damn Joanna will get everything!"
Chapter 180
"That's right. We can't let that slut Joanna get what's mine!"
