Chapter 200
Nicholas scratched his head. "Miss Haynes, that's what I heard, but I don't know if it's true."
Joanna pondered. "There are so many gyms in Greene Town. We don't know which one he goes to, or his daily habits. Let's try our luck!"
Cora frowned. "But there are so many gyms!"
Joanna said, "Turn on the navigation and search for nearby gyms."
"Okay!" Michael quickly activated his phone's navigation and searched.
Seconds later, the results appeared: seven or eight gyms.
"Miss Haynes, we found them!"
"Show me."
Joanna examined the results. The closest gym was one kilometer away; two others were four to five kilometers away, and one was over twenty kilometers away. That farthest gym, a high-end international chain, was the most appealing.
"Based on Brother Trumpet's spending, he'd likely choose the most expensive one. Let's go there."
"Miss Haynes, that's over twenty kilometers away! Would Brother Trumpet go that far from the company to work out?"
Joanna smiled. "This gym is high-end; membership costs tens of thousands of dollars a year! Brother Trumpet was once ordinary, but now he's a famous internet celebrity. He'll want to associate with upper-class society. He'll choose this one."
"That makes sense! Let's try our luck!"
"Alright! Hurry and pay the bill!"
They paid and navigated to the gym. Half an hour later, Michael parked in the gym's private underground lot. Outsiders weren't allowed, but Joanna had a nationwide VIP membership card, granting them entry. The lot was filled with luxury cars.
"Do you think we'll see him here?"
"I'm just trying my luck," Joanna said, somewhat unconvinced.
Their luck held. Less than half an hour later, the elevator opened, and a group emerged. Leading them was a handsome man in his thirties, wearing a cap and casual clothes, looking at his phone. Three or four assistants followed.
Nicholas's sharp eyes recognized Brother Trumpet, despite his low-key attire.
"Miss Haynes, that's Brother Trumpet!" Nicholas exclaimed, pointing.
Joanna reacted instantly. "Get out of the car!"
They rushed out. Brother Trumpet's assistants moved to shield him.
"Who are you?" Trumpet asked, thinking they were fans.
Joanna steadied herself, smiled professionally, and said, "Hello!"
Brother Trumpet was surprised. He was used to encountering fans and usually had bodyguards.
Joanna took a breath and observed Brother Trumpet. He was about 5'7", with delicate features, his shrewdness visible even through his cap.
"Hello. Are you Brother Trumpet?"
"Uh" Trumpet was hesitant. He noticed Joanna's business suit and glasses—clearly a professional. Despite her lack of makeup, her fair skin and exquisite features showed through.
"You are?"
"I'm Joanna Haynes. I'm here to discuss a business collaboration."
"Joanna Haynes?" Brother Trumpet looked surprised. He knew of her as Bruce's ex-wife.
"Nice to meet you!" Joanna extended her hand, which Trumpet shook. "What can I do for you?"
"I'm here to discuss a collaboration, Brother Trumpet."
Brother Trumpet was stunned. Bruce's ex-wife wanted to collaborate with him?
His assistant stepped forward. "If you want to discuss cooperation, please contact our marketing department."
Joanna smiled. "We tried that, but we need an appointment. We came from Greyport and don't have much time to wait."
Brother Trumpet's eyes lit up. The Haynes Group was a listed company; logically, they had many options.
"I'm not free today. I need to do a live broadcast," Brother Trumpet said.
Joanna looked disappointed. "Can you give me your contact information?"
His assistant started to refuse, but Trumpet stopped him. "Give her my business card."
The assistant obliged. Joanna, in turn, gave Trumpet her card.
"I hope we can work together."
"Alright!" Brother Trumpet politely waved as he got into his car.
