Chapter 6

"This is the ladies' room. You're in the wrong place," Joanna said coldly, continuing to wash the blood from her hands.

Bruce scoffed and casually turned on the tap to wash his hands. "I underestimated you. I thought you were infatuated and didn't expect you to find another customer so quickly."

Anger flashed in Joanna's eyes, but she wanted no further conversation. She shook the water from her hands and walked toward the door.

However, Bruce immediately stopped her. He grabbed her arm and violently threw her against the wall.

"Who's your children's father? When did you hook up with Jaydon Grimm?" (The website plug has been removed.)

Though divorced for four years, Bruce still considered Joanna his possession. He looked arrogant as he spoke.

Joanna struggled to free herself, but failed. Finally, she glared at him and said, in a voice of cold fury, "Mr. Everett, show me some respect. If you want to discuss business, go to the office. If this is personal, I have nothing to say."

Bruce's lips curled into a sneer. He leaned closer.

Joanna frowned, but her heart pounded nervously. Bruce had once held absolute dominance over her, leaving her deeply traumatized. Even after four years, the fear remained.

"Let go of me, Bruce! This is my workplace. Don't you dare—"

"What are you afraid of? That they'll call you a slut for hitting on your ex-husband in the restroom?"

"Are you insane? I'm warning you. Show some respect!"

"A slut like you deserves no respect."

"Bruce Everett, you're going too far!" Joanna struggled violently, but Bruce pinned her arms to the wall, making it impossible to escape. His height and strength were oppressive; she could barely breathe.

"Don't you love this? Ha, I didn't expect you'd still be playing innocent after four years."

He removed her black-rimmed glasses and looked into her eyes with a wicked smile. "That look on your face… I bet Jaydon Grimm loves it, doesn't he?"

Joanna was flustered. "You psychopath! What are you doing? Stop this…"

He grinned, pleased by her panic. During their marriage, he'd enjoyed punishing her with his aggressive methods. Now that she was with another man, he intended to show her the consequences of angering him.

"Oh, are you afraid of being seen? Afraid Jaydon Grimm will dump you? Just cut it out, Joanna Haynes. Put away your dirty little schemes."

Joanna fumed. "Tell me, Mr. Everett, what schemes?"

"Didn't we agree during the divorce? You'd leave Greyport forever! Why did you break the deal? To make me suffer?" Bruce raised his eyebrows, his expression almost murderous. He cared most that Joanna had returned with her sons and another man. Even divorced, he felt cheated and betrayed. He was capable of abandoning anyone, but he didn't like someone else having "his toy."

"I returned for my grandfather's inheritance. What's it to you? I said, show some respect and let go of me!"

"And I've told you, you don't deserve respect," Bruce sneered, his hands roaming over her body.

"Bruce, we're divorced. I don't owe you anything. Don't insult me! Get your hands off me, or I'll sue you for assault!"

"You? Sue me? Don't make me laugh. Everyone in Greyport knows you drugged me and begged for sex. You forget so quickly?"

"For the last time, I didn't drug anyone! I am the victim."

"Ha! Keep telling yourself that."

Joanna took a deep breath. "Fine. Whatever you say. I've realized there are far better men than you! Divorcing you was the best thing that ever happened to me."

This enraged Bruce. He jerked his head down and kissed her forcefully, an aggressive kiss that left Joanna fearing she'd be consumed.

"Mm… get your hands…"

Bruce raised his head, eyes mocking. He sneered, "Do you think I'd touch you again? Don't flatter yourself! I won't sleep with a whore who sleeps with others. It disgusts me."

He released Joanna resentfully and stormed out. Joanna gasped for breath, her face a mess, her lipstick smeared.

"Stop, Bruce Everett!"
