Chapter 87
Shaun, Roxanne, Ingrid, and the others returned to the Haynes’ house, frustrated. Roxanne cried the entire way. Upon arriving home, she ran upstairs and locked her door. Ingrid was furious. "Look at your daughter! She failed again!"
Shaun frowned and sighed. Ingrid’s anger intensified at his apparent cowardice. "No matter what, you will hold a press conference immediately and announce that you're severing your father-daughter relationship with her! She destroyed Roxy’s engagement banquet six years ago, and now she’s trying to ruin it again! Roxy’s whole life is ruined by her!"
Shaun frowned. "From the video, Joann was also set up six years ago. I don't think she did it intentionally. It seems better to find the person who set her up first."
"She might have fabricated the whole story," Ingrid insisted. "Six years ago, she might have planned it herself. Regardless, it’s because of her that Mr. Everett and Roxy’s marriage has been repeatedly delayed. This time, if Roxy’s marriage is ruined, I won't let her off!"
Derick and Ryan were also angry. "If Roxy's marriage is ruined, we'll go after Joanna right now!"
"Don't meddle," Shaun said. "You're still in school; your studies should be your only concern."
Derick gritted his teeth. "How can I study? You promised me a new sports car after Roxy’s wedding! Now this has happened—will I still get it?"
"Keep dreaming! If your sister's marriage is ruined, you won't even get a bicycle, let alone a sports car!" Shaun retorted.
"Exactly!" Ingrid agreed.
The family was anxious, desperate to find Joanna and make her pay.
Meanwhile, in a Rolls-Royce, Bruce looked serious. Andy, having traced the hacker's IP address, reported, "Mr. Everett, the hacker's IP address has been found."
"Tell me."
"It's here!" Andy showed Bruce the address. "Also, the hacker doesn't appear to be an adult. He must be a child."
Bruce was stunned. What kind of child could do this? If it was a child, they were undoubtedly a genius hacker. He examined the address and frowned. "Isn't this Joanna's address?"
"I think you're right," Andy confirmed.
"It's really her." Bruce sneered. He knew Joanna still loved him. "Go find her."
"Yes, Mr. Everett."
On the ground floor of the Haynes Group, Joanna left work, meeting Jaydon for dinner.
"Joanna, what would you like for dinner?"
Joanna smiled. "Your choice."
"Then let's go to the restaurant we went to last time," Jaydon said gently.
"Alright."
Suddenly, several luxury cars surrounded them. More than ten men in suits emerged, blocking their escape. A Rolls-Royce door opened, and Bruce slowly stepped out.
Joanna frowned. "Bruce, what do you want?"
Bruce approached them coldly, his gaze fixed on Joanna. "What do I want? I should be asking you that question. What do you want?"
Joanna stared at him, confused. Jaydon stepped in front of Joanna. "Bruce, I'm warning you, don't do anything rash!"
Bruce ignored Jaydon, addressing Joanna in a commanding tone: "Joanna, come with me."
"Let go of me!" Joanna protested.
"Don't move!" Jaydon's eyes darkened, ready to fight.
The bodyguards quickly restrained Jaydon. "Bruce, don't go too far!"
"Joanna, I'm warning you! Come with me now, or you'll regret it!"
Joanna gasped. He would do it.
Jaydon eventually relented.
"Okay."
Bruce, expressionless, ordered, "Get in." Joanna reluctantly complied.
"Bruce, what exactly do you want?"
Bruce sneered, a wicked smile playing on his lips. "Still playing dumb?"
"What do you want? How would I know if you don't say it?" Joanna retorted.
Andy interjected, "Miss Haynes, a hacker accessed Mr. Everett's engagement banquet system today. We traced the IP address to your home." Davian, despite his skill, had made mistakes.
Joanna scoffed, "That's absolutely impossible!"
"Look, isn't this your home address?" Andy showed her.
Joanna's heart skipped a beat. It was her address.
"That's impossible! I'm at the office all day. Only the children are home"
Bruce raised an eyebrow. "Why is that impossible? It's the same person who photoshopped my nude photos last time."
Joanna was even more confused. Only Tracy and Miranda were home; they couldn't have done this. An uninvited guest?
"Calm down. Things will be clarified," she said, anxious. "I want to go home and see if someone else was there."
Soon, they arrived at Joanna's house. Joanna rushed inside, calling Tracy. Bruce followed closely behind.
"Open the door!" Bruce commanded.
Tracy opened the door. Joanna dashed inside.
"Davian, Irvin, did you do something today?"
The two boys, seeing their mother's anger and Bruce's displeasure, looked guilty and afraid.
"Did you touch Mommy's computer?"
