Joe wasn't lacking in intelligence. Considering Vera's recent unusual behavior, and the ring's earlier effect on him, he'd be a fool not to deduce its intended recipient.

Skylar remained silent. After a careful inspection, she rubbed her eyes and focused intently on the ring's interior. "Do you have a magnifying glass at home?" she asked.

"Yes, I'll get it," Joe replied.

A few minutes later, Joe returned with a magnifying glass. Skylar immediately examined the ring's interior. Upon seeing the engraved patterns, her confusion cleared.

"No wonder…" she murmured.

"What do you mean, 'no wonder'?" Joe asked.

Skylar traced the shallow patterns. They were so subtle they could easily be mistaken for scratches. "Take a look. Don't you find these patterns strange? Because of them, people wouldn't realize it's a negative item."

Joe examined the area she indicated. He saw patterns, but they seemed haphazard, and their significance eluded him. "They really are there," he said.

Skylar smiled and nodded. "Next time a suspicious antique appears, I'll check for these patterns." She had finally discovered the flaw in the negative item.

"Oh, right. Vera probably feels anxious about losing the ring. Has she asked you to retrieve it?" she inquired.

Joe stared at her. "No."

Skylar felt perplexed by his gaze. Surely, nothing was on her face. However, the pressing issue was the ring itself. "Is she really not anxious about losing it?" Skylar turned the ring over, examining it closely. It was quite beautiful; if not for its negative properties, it would be lovely to wear.

"She's worn this ring every time I've seen her recently," Joe mused.

Skylar nodded, glancing at Joe as if about to speak, then hesitating. Given Joe's relationship with Vera, she thought it best to remain cautious. Vera's repeated appearances with the ring would undoubtedly influence Joe significantly. If he loved Vera deeply, his feelings would only intensify. If not, the ring's effects might still cause him to see Vera as exceptional, gradually drawing his attention.

"I'll go upstairs to change, then we can discuss this ring," Skylar said, placing the ring on the table before heading upstairs.

As she reached the staircase, Joe called out, "Skylar, I saw your suitcase. Are you planning to move out of the Galaxy Villa? Are you waiting for me to go to the courthouse with you tomorrow for a divorce?"

Skylar turned, surprised by his assumption. She hadn't expected him to misunderstand her intentions.
