Now that he no longer needs you, he's divorcing you while flaunting his relationship with her. Don't you want them to pay for deceiving you?" Vera's tone was full of indignation.

The implication was that Skylar was the deceived party. Skylar curled her lips into a faint smirk. "What do you want them to pay for?"

"If you publicly admit your marriage to Joe and his abandonment of you, it would show everyone that Joe and Lizzie's fairytale romance is built on the suffering of others. It's utterly hypocritical," Vera said, her tone agitated, even more passionate than before. Clearly, she had seen the day's trending news.

The love story between Joe and Lizzie had indeed been packaged as a fairytale, making it seem incredibly desirable. In real life, perfect love was something everyone envied.

Skylar found Vera somewhat amusing. "If I really did that, what benefit would I gain?"

"I'll meet any conditions you propose." In Vera's view, she believed Skylar was on her side.
