Chapter 1167

Due to a lack of surveillance in certain areas en route to the airport, there were still no clues regarding Joe and Paul's disappearance. Police suspected abduction. However, the abductors' lack of contact made that scenario unlikely. A more probable explanation was that Joe, Paul, and their driver had met with an unfortunate fate. Both conclusions remained speculative, pending further investigation.

Despite the lack of evidence, Skylar firmly believed Joe was safe. Tears welled in her eyes as she repeatedly watched a video of him. She whispered, "He'll be fine. He has to be."

Outside the guest room, Jacky told Steven, "There's a chance Mr. Martin is already dead." He'd been informed that continued searching in Murida was futile. After a month of exhaustive efforts, they had exhausted all leads. It was time to return and address the unfolding crisis at the Martin Group.

The situation was dire. Joe's associates and shareholders were locked in fierce conflict. His prolonged absence had led to the presumption of his death in Jipsburg. Fortunately, Joe's protective measures for the Martin Group remained in place; his return would bring those who had seized the opportunity to their reckoning.

Jacky declared it was time to leave. Steven nodded gravely, glancing back at Skylar. He, too, needed to return. He sighed deeply, "This isn't the outcome we hoped for." They had all witnessed Skylar's month of suffering, each flicker of hope dashed by disappointment. They clung to silent hope until reality forced its way in. "We need to face reality," Jacky said. "You should tell her."

Steven agreed. "Alright."

After Jacky and Howard departed, Steven returned to the guest room. Skylar sat lost in thought, staring at her phone. The recent surveillance footage, capturing Joe's final moments, weighed heavily on her. Just as Steven was about to speak, she said, "Are Jacky and Howard going back to Jipsburg?"

Steven, momentarily surprised, nodded. "You figured it out?"

"We've been here a month," Skylar replied, her voice heavy with a hint of confusion. "A lot has happened in Jipsburg, but we've found nothing. I kept pushing to find them, losing track of time. We've been searching for a whole month." The pain surfaced, making it difficult to continue. For days, she'd wondered if her rebirth had somehow jeopardized Joe's safety. Taking a deep breath, she said, "Steven, it's time to go back."

Steven looked at her with concern. "Okay, let's go home." But the search wouldn't end. They needed to find Joe, alive or dead.

The Martin Group faced an unprecedented crisis due to Joe's disappearance. Within a month, Gloria had sold her shares. Ernest was maneuvering to elevate Claudio, who believed himself equally capable as Joe. Just days before Claudio was expected to become CEO, a sudden shift occurred.
