Chapter 1196

After leaving the Hughes residence, Skylar dropped Caleb off at his house before heading to the mall. While en route, Jeremy called to apologize for his family's behavior, which Skylar accepted. After purchasing a dress at the mall, she went to Natalie's café. Upon arrival, she found a staff member stationed outside.

“I’m sorry, we’re not open for business right now. We will reopen in a few days.”

Skylar then remembered Natalie's café was closed for ten days due to a film crew renting the space. However, she glimpsed inside and unexpectedly saw Austin. Her eyebrows shot up as she understood why the crew had accepted Natalie's terms; it was all because of Austin. His return seemed to be for Natalie. Skylar smiled, pleased by this development. Since Natalie would likely be busy, she decided to visit another time.

As soon as Skylar arrived home, Natalie called.

“How was it with the Hughes family?”

“Nothing major; it’s resolved. Those two who bullied the young girl were simply bad actors; it had nothing to do with any cursed object.”

Natalie chuckled. “I’ve been on social media these past few days, and I’ve seen so many stories about them. Everyone says Zack and Quincey have been troublemakers since childhood, and now they’ve finally faced consequences. The situation is escalating, and even if their family tries to use connections, it won't be easy.”

“You’re right.”

“Anyway, I have to go. I’ll probably be busy until midnight,” Natalie said hurriedly.

Skylar replied, “Alright.”

Chapter 1197

The next day, Caleb arrived in the morning with a custom-made dress.

“One of Uncle John’s friends is a fashion designer, so I got this dress from him. It’s the smallest size. Try it on. If it doesn’t fit, I can have him adjust it,” he said.

Skylar tried it on and came downstairs. Caleb was speechless, awestruck. Skylar looked stunning. He thought no one could wear this dress better. It was a one-shoulder white gown, revealing a dazzlingly fair collarbone and shoulder. The dress hugged her figure flawlessly, showcasing her silhouette perfectly.

Caleb had never seen a woman so beautiful. In his mind, no one could compare to Skylar.

“You’ll steal the show tonight when I take you there! I’m not exaggerating,” he said enthusiastically.

He felt he couldn't adequately express his feelings. Skylar was a timeless vision, a muse perfectly aligned with his aesthetic. This time, he was determined to win her heart, certain no one else could ever replace her.

“That’s good,” Skylar said, pleased with the dress. She’d already admired it in the mirror; it was even better than the one she’d bought at the mall. Then, she glanced at the time. “What time should we leave?”

“Around four should be fine,” Caleb replied, checking the time. It was eleven in the morning; they had several hours. He’d initially worried about alterations, but it fit perfectly.

Skylar smiled. “Do you have other lunch plans? If not, stay and have lunch with me. I’ll cook a few dishes.”

Caleb’s eyes widened. “I don’t have any other plans!”
