Chapter 1329

The maid announced, "She says she is Ned Sowle's fiancรฉe."

Upon hearing Ned's name, Veronica instantly understood the lack of a prior appointment. However, she wondered why Roan had suddenly arrived. Although she'd never met this woman, Veronica felt an immediate dislike.

Gloria was also surprised. She furrowed her brow. After a moment, she said, "Let her in." Turning to Veronica, she added, "Put those things away for now. We may not be going after all. I want to see what this Rosa has come for."

"Visiting without an appointment is unusual, Mrs. Martin Senior. Please don't let your emotions get the better of you. If necessary, I can call Mrs. Martin and ask her to return," Veronica said, a hint of concern in her voice.

Gloria shook her head. "No need. She's just a young woman."

Having been around Joe for three years, Rosa must have deduced his true identity, yet never revealed it. The thought of her conniving nature darkened Gloria's expression. A person who claimed what wasn't theirs was inherently wrong.

After a few minutes, Gloria met Rosa. Rosa was momentarily taken aback by Gloria's remarkably well-preserved appearance and undeniable air of authority. The woman possessed a fascinating presence, similar to Joe's. Together, they would undoubtedly project a sense of familial connection.

Rosa was surprised Skylar wasn't there, given Skylar also resided in the house. Rosa had come to make her intentions clear to both Gloria and Skylar, avoiding the need for a later visit.

"Hello, Mrs. Martin Senior. I'm Rosa Reese, Ned's fiancรฉe. I apologize for the intrusion," she began politely.

Gloria coldly replied, "Get to the point."

"Could Ms. Sullivan come down as well? I need to speak with her. I want to clarify everything while I have the opportunity," Rosa requested.

Rosa constantly reminded herself to smile, but facing an elderly woman in her seventies, she felt exposed. Maintaining eye contact proved difficult. Still, she was determined. She had to see this through; otherwise, she'd find no peace.

Gloria raised an eyebrow. "Skye isn't here. If you have something to say, say it."

Rosa sensed Gloria's impatience. It seemed Gloria didn't want to hear a long explanation. Despite her reluctance, Rosa remembered this visit wasn't easy. If she didn't resolve things today, Joe would inevitably learn the truth. She decided to address everything with Gloria present.

Rosa had learned of Gloria's declining health. Yet, her continued life puzzled Rosa.

Rosa frowned slightly, quickly forcing a smile as she addressed Gloria. "My fiancรฉ, Ned Sowle, and I recently visited Jipsburg. To our surprise, we encountered someone who looked exactly like him. That person is your grandson, Joe Martin."
