She learned, once again, the profound lesson that alcohol leads to trouble. However, the incident was past; dwelling on it served no purpose.

“I think you should forget this unpleasant experience and not let it occupy your mind,” Skylar typed swiftly, then sent the message.

She showered, relaxed, and lay on her bed, examining the photos Alexander had sent. As she scrolled, a restoration plan formed. She envisioned the finished project.

Meanwhile, at the airport, Joe smiled faintly at his WhatsApp message. Beside him, Paul felt a chill. Joe’s smile seemed frightening; it was unlike his usual demeanor. Why was he staring at his phone and smiling?

Then, Paul saw the WhatsApp message from Skylar. He had an epiphany.

“You seem to have a good relationship with Ms. Sullivan these days, Mr. Martin,” Paul asked. “Do you like her?”

The smile froze on Joe’s lips. He closed WhatsApp, his expression deadpan, and turned off his phone.

“Not exactly,” he said coldly.

“But you’ve been chatting with her a lot recently,” Paul remarked. He saw every change in Joe, having spent so much time with him. Previously, Joe rarely showed patience when messaging others. Even with friends, he was succinct. Yet, he'd smiled at his phone. Paul was certain something was happening between them; he’d bet his life on it.

“We’re just discussing Grandma’s situation,” Joe said icily, raising an eyebrow. “Why do I feel like I’m not giving you enough work?”

Paul was speechless. He wasn't busy, and preferred it that way. He zipped his lips.

“Mr. Martin?” A surprised voice called.

Joe looked up. “Marcus?”

Marcus arrived at the airport with a voluptuous woman; they were just clearing security.

Chapter 105

Paul, having just zipped his mouth, was taking a selfie. He accidentally included Marcus in the photo.

Ten minutes later, after Skylar finished reviewing Alexander’s photos, she casually opened Instagram. She saw Paul’s selfie from the airport.

Paul was handsome, resembling the cute guys on talent shows. He could be an idol.

Her gaze fell on Marcus, standing behind Paul. Surprised to see him at the airport, on the same flight as Joe, she noticed his barely visible thumb ring.

One eyelid twitched. She had a premonition about Marcus. Immediately, she called Joe.
