It was a silent night, but silence wasn't in the cards for Hevelne. Young adults, squeezed together, swayed to the pulsing music under the dim lights. To Kenny, the music was deafening. He considered these partygoers disgraceful citizens.

He rarely frequented such places, having only attended once during university at his classmates' urging. He disliked the atmosphere and never returned. Besides, he’d told Maisy that a bar wasn't a place for someone like her—she was so pure and innocent, he didn't want this place to taint her. Therefore, he was astonished to find himself following her into the bar.

Maisy seemed familiar with the place, but he lost sight of her immediately upon entering. Meanwhile, Maisy quickly approached the man who'd asked her out earlier. His eyes lit up when he saw her; he slipped her a pill, and she swallowed it before he led her to the dance floor.

The drug took effect rapidly. Maisy, throwing caution to the wind, danced wildly, practically glued to the man. No one seemed to find their behavior unusual; everyone was focused on getting intoxicated and letting loose.

Kenny spent hours searching for Maisy. Just as he began to doubt himself, he spotted her gyrating against a man—a Maisy he’d never seen before, heavily made up and clearly enjoying herself. She didn't seem to mind the man's hands roaming her body. She'd removed her jacket, revealing a revealing tube top that looked as if it might fall off at any moment. If she weren't his sister, he would have thought he was hallucinating. His jaw dropped.

Unaware of Kenny's presence, Maisy continued to enjoy the man's attentions. After a moment, he cupped her chin and kissed her. Kenny snapped to attention and stormed toward them.

"How's the goods?" the man asked.

"It's fantastic," Maisy replied enthusiastically. "But can you make it even better?"

"Bathroom?"

"Sure!"

As they were about to leave, Kenny yanked Maisy back. She shrieked, "Who the fuck?"

Kenny's vein throbbed at her cursing. "Maisy!"

The single word sobered her. "Kenny!"

Kenny dragged Maisy out of the bar. Unseen by them, someone filmed Maisy, from the moment she took the pill until Kenny pulled her away. The man instinctively blocked their exit, seeing his conquest being taken from him.

Kenny shoved him aside. "Get lost!"

Overwhelmed, Maisy trailed behind Kenny, only regaining her composure when the cold night air hit her face after he bundled her into the car.
