Chapter 276
Maisy was consumed by hatred for Christopher. Meanwhile, Christopher, looking at the transfer details indicating $500,000, felt satisfaction. Maisy’s threats were insignificant, as meaningless as a mosquito bite.
“I filmed the video accidentally,” he said. “I didn’t expect you to appear and let me record you. As long as you don’t give me opportunities, I won’t do it again.”
His promises were merely to appease Maisy. Since discovering Maisy and Kenny’s affair, he was determined to film it. Exploiting Kenny would be beneficial as well. He figured a woman like Maisy likely had many lovers; filming them all would only profit him.
His job hunt in Jipsburg City had been fruitless. This, however, was a lucrative opportunity—several hundred thousand dollars for a single filming.
Maisy took a deep breath. “Stop bothering me,” she said. “What happened between us was mutual. We were happy. You don’t need to watch me. Go find Skylar.”
“You and Skylar are different women,” Christopher replied. “Before you hang up, Maisy, how many men have you slept with?”
Maisy clenched her teeth. “That’s none of your business! Stop prying!”
Christopher sneered. “You’re just a slut. Stop acting high and mighty.”
After ending the call, he glanced at the Gardner Group building entrance; it was deserted. Bored, he decided to sell Maisy’s video on an adult website. It only brought in a few tens of thousands of dollars, but it was better than nothing. He was also giving other men access to it.
He waited past 4:00 p.m. People began leaving the Gardner Group building. His eyes scanned the entrance excitedly; he didn’t want to miss anyone.
He refused to believe Skylar had taken the day off. However, after several minutes, she still hadn’t appeared. Could she be avoiding him?
He stopped a woman. “Is Skylar still working?”
“Didn’t Skylar take the day off? Who are you? What do you need?” the female employee asked.
Anger surged. “You said she took the day off?”
“Yes, call her if you need anything.”
Christopher fumed as he watched her walk away. He’d waited for hours, only to learn Skylar hadn’t come to work.
The incoming security guard recognized him and told his colleague, “If you see him again, don’t let him near Skylar.”
“Huh? He’s been waiting for hours. I even told him to call her, but he refused.”
“He’s a madman,” the guard replied. “I’ll tell Skylar.”
Skylar received the message. Learning Christopher had waited for several hours, she took a deep breath.
