Maisy couldn't muster her usual tough talk. Her eyes, filled with complexity and anger, bore into Skylar's. "Tell me," she demanded, "who sent you that video? Aren't you supposed to be ignoring Christopher after the breakup? Was he the one who sent it?"

Damn it, Christopher! He should have deleted the video after taking her money. Why had he given it to Skylar?

Skylar smiled, remaining silent.

Maisy felt herself nearing a breakdown. "Skylar, say something!"

Charles intervened, unable to contain himself any longer. He stood, pushing Maisy away. "Your actions will always catch up with you, sooner or later. You should have known better."

Maisy glared intensely at Skylar. If Skylar refused to speak, it was definitely connected to Christopher.

Charles shoved Maisy out and slammed the door.

The family dinner had become tense due to Maisy's arrival, and conversation had dwindled during the meal. Seeing this side of Maisy revealed they had underestimated Skylar's pain, particularly Janine, who had believed Maisy had changed. But it turned out

Breaking the silence, Skylar looked at Steven. "Steven, didn't you mention you had something important to share today?"

Guilt evident in his eyes, Steven glanced at Skylar and tried to sound casual. "Yeah. There's some importantnews. I'll be bringing my girlfriend home next time."

"Congratulations!" Skylar was pleasantly surprised. Of her older brothers, she'd been most worried about Steven. He had put his personal life on hold after university to support the family.

"Girlfriend? Steven, you've kept this secret well. When did you find time for a girlfriend?" Charles was shocked, having assumed Steven was solely focused on his scientific research.

Charles, however, still lacked a girlfriend despite being surrounded by women daily.

The atmosphere lightened, and Janine calmed down. "What does she do?" she asked.

Steven blushed slightly. "She's a TV host. We met at work."

Skylar was taken aback. "A TV host? That's a great job. Treat her well," Janine advised with a smile.

"I will," Steven nodded.

Charles nudged Steven's arm. "Well done, Steven! A TV host is a respectable job, and it's not that complicated."

With Steven's news, the atmosphere became lively again, overshadowing Maisy's earlier outburst. Skylar then revealed she'd bought a house with a loan. The family was shocked.

"I work in antique restoration, which pays well. I also run an Amazon store, which brings in a steady daily income. This house will be our family's first, and we can move in once it's renovated!"

"That's great!" Harvey exclaimed joyfully, rising to his feet.

Just then, a message from Joe appeared on Skylar's phone.
